It’s because the thing that makes them incredibly powerful in 3v3 arena does not allow them to shine in 2v2 arena, where the meta and the strategies are vastly different.
You might as well ask why double dps does much better than triple dps between 2v2 and 3v3. Because it’s the same answer.

45min games are the bleeping worst. Wanna end myself. Drink 2 beers after the game just to stop hating myself. And then whisper the enemy team healer and exchange sentiments how we both hate ourselves and eachother.

Above guys are correct, played my first timeout 2s match of the xpac the other day, vs another Rsham.
No one felt in danger of dying for the entire time. I have played many timeout 2s matches in wotlkC, and many long matches in TBCC including a 99 min match.
Cata 2s feels easier to hit stalemate conditions
