Blizz was off to a great start releasing TCG items though promotions like the 6 month subscription with the dark portal hearthstone, goblin gumbo, tabard etc. But then something happened now they’re dumping new pets that are unique for classic and unavailable on retail and mounts on retain unavailable in classic. Atleast allow classic players to take part in the twitch promotions and not just give us a fish pet assuming that’s good enough for $77 dollars.
I understand this doesn’t help your situation but the Trading Post in retail is probably why. They put a lot of older TCG things in there iirc.
I think it comes down to preserving a feel of classic that the newer mounts don’t have? They have put newer mounts in tho like the glider and that lizard thing so I’m probably wrong. I’m not blizzard though so that’s just my thoughts.

I’m kind of surprised that they haven’t done anything like adding collectables (pets, tabards, titles, maybe some silly items like the Christmas hats) that are availablet hrough Hearthstone card packs.
Perhaps they are just separate enough entities that that doesn’t make sense to do.

Keep that garbage out of Classic. If you want to buy ridiculous mounts and pets that have no place in the Warcraft universe, you can go play Retail and partake in its extensive cash shop.
i’m sorry to shatter your dreams but cata classic will implement shop mounts and maybe worse.
