And? People aren’t playing the game to see affection. But, just to show you that you’re wrong:

Jaina’s affection for Arthas was played on during WotLK.

Thrall’s affection for Grom was played on during WotLK by aking excuse after excuse for Garrosh.

In Cataclysm Jaina’s affection for the people of Theramore was used against her.

I think it was in between Cata and MoP that Jaina used the affection she had for her people to essentially wholesale slaughter and purge Dalaran of Horde races (and sacrificed Kalecgos’ affection for her in the process).

In Legion, Sylvanas played her sister’s affection for her to begin setting them up.

Affection is used very often to push the narrative. But romance isn’t, because is basically pointless to the narrative.

There is one quest in the jade forest where the pandaren Mr. Mann smooches Mrs. Mann. That very well might be the single occurrence in the whole game, but I’m not sure.

Kissing got outlawed in all troll tribes. Before the law passed it was the number one cause of impalement related deaths

Man… I would love it if people would stop fabricating pairings based on the dedicated friendship between 2 characters. Will probably never happen, though.

Yeah but now imagine this, but an in-engine WoW cutscene with the models and animations that are mostly just facelifts of 2005 assets.

Two reasons:

  1. ESRB. If young female players see kisses, they might get pregnant, making themselves illegal in Alabama, Missouri, and Ohio.

  2. Interracial kisses. These send the viewers directly to hell in places like Alabama, Missouri, or Ohio.

Blizz is simultaneously trying to avoid ESRB issues and take care of your spiritual well being.
