Now I have nothing to do… I wanted to mess around with the mount creation stuff, but I have to wait 4 days for one upgrade and 6 for another.
How did the players not riot when this was first announced?
Dragonflight is coming out soon this is dead content… WHY?
Sorry, but when I encounter something so utterly stupid I have to vent about it.
They did. But the lizzard will as the lizzard wills. 
It’s like the opposite of gameplay. It’s like the hey go play something else for a few days option. What the actual cinnamon toast frick was the point? I thought time played metric was a meme. This is time wasted metric!
It wasn’t connected to player power at all so nobody cared. Plenty of other things to do and months ahead to do protoforge things.
Not to mention 99% of the players didn’t even know what the protoforges are. Most probably still don’t.
EDIT: And if you think the research delays are a problem, just wait until you run into the Genesis Motes issue.
EDIT2: The research only takes seconds once you have it on at least 1 character. What have you been up to the last 9 months?
I don’t know what that even is since this is my first interaction with this system, but if it’s worse then I’m done. The wait times alone made me just alt f4 and find something else to do. I’m starting to question why I am subscribed this is so stupid.
You obviously haven’t been playing this year at all, you should just unsubscribe again, there’s no reason for you to stay subbed just to complain.
To milk your sub for as long as possible
A couple weeks chugging away in the background while everyone was doing all the other content anyway was hardly going to “milk” anyone’s subscription.
I was enjoying my time killing rares and gathering the currency for the machine. My goal was flying and mounts. That is all and I was enjoying my time up until I realized I had to wait so long. It wasn’t even time which was totally ludicrous, but the fact that some heartless person got this appoved as a feature. It’s the intent of it that bothers me so.
It’s been there since May and the intro quest chain leads you right to it.
I just started doing it. So since May it has been this awful and nobody thought to nerf the time. Or maybe they thought it and said screw them. I know you’re not supposed to assume malice where it might not exist, but everytime I try to give Shadowlands a fair chance I end up deeply annoyed and disappointed at the time lost. I’m starting to wonder if this game is worth it. If my time is rewarded. It certainly doesn’t feel that way.
Is that not the point of the forums?
The time isn’t an issue because everybody had plenty of other stuff to do.
Unfortunately, for some, it sure seems to be. 
Shadowlands is like waiting for a cancer diagnosis. The anticipation is much different from the result.
One system, sure
But when several systems are timegating you, well…
If I don’t complain about it maybe it won’t get fixed. It’s not my fault that nobody values their time stacked against like 9 days of waiting. God forbid you go for all of it. I was venting because it’s cathartic. But in doing so I’m starting to question my decision to even start playing this garbage.

Making all the pets and mounts takes 18,400 Genesis Motes.
Monsters drop 1 or 2 Genesis Motes each. Sometimes.
Complaining about the research time is just… microscopic, in the grand scheme of things.
Torghast. Covenants. Campaigns. Did you…not play Shadowlands at all, or something?
I’m fine with grinding, because I actively control the time spent. This is just wheel spinning. I’m told to go kick rocks for 9 days.
