No one cared. It wasn’t player power. Click the button, farm the rest of the content. Get the gear. Get the transmogs. Get the tier.
They made it instant on alts and that was all that mattered. Content needs a few little timegates so people don’t blow through it in a day and cry there’s nothing to do.
I never felt held back by anything, all of the content was perfectly doable with what we had at the time. And there was always so much to do that I never felt bad about waiting another week for more Torghast layers or the next story chapter.

NOBODY is fine with Genesis Mote grinding. 
… there’s an entire zone of content to do, Genesis Motes to get, lattices to get, etc. Why would you sit there and do nothing?
I’ve been doing it for days now. I’m bored because they did nothing with the prepatch so far so I regressed into Shadowlands crap.
Then go do something else. Level alts for heritage armor. Mess with loadouts for different ways to play your specs. Go play another game. Something. Anything other than this.
Can I get these before the machine upgrade? I’ve killed a ton of rares and Ive never seen either.
There’s a comment on wowhead saying motes don’t drop until you research Dealic understanding, but it’s been so long I don’t recall if that’s true or not.
Yeah so that’s what I’m waiting on lol.
It’s really all I want to do atm. So I logged off till part one is done I guess.

If the rarity counts used for mount journal enhanced addon (which just recently added zm mount %) mean anything… mawadapted raptora and other mounts have like ownership close to glad mounts.
Nobody was doing the stupid genesis motes. Naturally a site like dataforazeroth are good but they’ll inflate counts because all the mount addicts flocking to it.
It’s not our fault you apparently did everything else in ZM and didn’t do your research at the same time.
The issue with the Mawdapted Raptora is the recipe. It’s one of just 2 recipes I do not have.
A 1.5% drop off the GIANTS in northeastern ZM. Of which there are like… 2 spawns, I think?
Crafting my own mounts was NOT what I wanted to do. I didn’t even really participate in the system at all, except for a few of the easier ones that were basically handed to us.
Korthia rare drop mounts were great. Having to farm motes, pray for rare drop lattices, pray for rare drop mats, then make a mount… screw that.
I honestly wasn’t aware of it. I unlocked flying and gathered my currency to upgrade it. I’ve only been going at it for a few days now. I got to the third row before I noticed how long the timegate even was. I ran out of story and started rare farming to afford the mount maker thing. I’m not constantly wowheading what I’m doing.
Also it’s not fair to say that’s my fault I was following what the story wanted me to.
All I knew was that in row three did it have the thing I wanted. I’m not trying to 100% it. I just wanted a snail mount or whatever.
How? The quests literally take you to the research console. Did you just not read them?
Except you didn’t follow it. Because had you done that, you would’ve known about the research.

But ZM crafting is just horrible (and I called this out during PTR, but nobody else cared because they were all freaking out about irrelevant stuff like how Blizzard “lied” about ZM not being needed for character progression).
And again, the problem isn’t the “rare” recipes or the “rare” lattices or the “rare” additional materials.
The problem is the 18,400 Genesis Motes required. The “uncommon” mats. 
They should let us buy bags of the stuff with all that worthless Cosmic Flux we have.
I did just not the times. The other ones would finish when I logged off for the night. They weren’t 3 days and 5 days respectively.
