Why are some words not automatically banned?

Can someone give me a good reason why if someone says a slur in game it’s not automatically filtered?

Reporting does nothing, they just make new characters. It’s actually disgusting that this is happening, add in account wide ignore or filter chat, your choice but make a choice.

Just use the silly chat censor thingy in the options. Bam!

I agree with this 100%.

But it is, it’s the “Mature language filter” that you turned off.

By default, the “Mature Language Filter” is enabled. You disabled it.
Please, enabled it.

I disabled it, to see whet people say, so I can better judge them.

Actually it’s not me who’s being harassed for once, it’s a streamer.

This made me laugh a lot.

The streamer can enable the Mature Language Filter in game. And filter their streams chat as they see fit.

There is already a thread jumping to his defense.

Turn on your Mature Language filters.

Probably cause it’s not a great idea to auto ban every word you don’t like.

But…but…my free speech.

If they start auto banning words, where will it stop? Auto banning thought?

Because Blizzard isn’t your dad and there are some channels where chat you don’t like is allowed, even if you don’t like that.

I’m guessing this is a continuation of another thread? You do understand that this is against ToS and is also considered spam.

Oh no scary words D:

But then how would they make sensational podcasts displaying how abused they are, in turn inspiring their disciples to rush to their defense?

Yes, I am a cynic and I am ok with it.

Because me saying to my friend sup **** is just me greeting him and he wouldn’t be offended. Context matters.
I wouldn’t say it or trade without expecting to be reported though.

Big fan. Really big fan.
