1000g now is like… 10s back in vanilla. Do like 2-3 WQs and you’ll make over 1000g.
I’ve seen near 1k, without even having any single piece highlighted as near broken. Well over 600-700 any way, it is getting a little ridiculous considering the prices for necessities.
This is the real nerf we all need and deserve.
Have you looked at the WQ rewards lately? The weekly world boss WQ reward this week was 70 gold. Every quest could have the gold rewards doubled and it still wouldn’t help some people as much as you’re implying just grinding quests for hours will. The real decent gold comes from certain caches and wax coated boxes or whatever from the odd globs of wax, or time spent gathering.
But it answers your stated question.
no but i am this cheap. im the kind of person that refuses to pay more than 350$ for a gpu.
the kind of person nvidia sees and goes:
Wow, such exciting gameplay. I love doing chores in game.
Repair cost should just go away. Gold doesnt even matter anymore since you can buy it.
For my main dying is around 120g gold, with Hero gear equipped in most of the slots. 1000g would by dying multiple times until the items turned red.
The fastest way to get the gold back is by doing WQ which provide several 100g sometimes and the weekly quests, where you get 1500 to 3000g easily.
Selling useless gear and grey items from delves brings a lot of gold as well (at least if you manage running T8’s without dying too often).
People have been asking for exactly that for years but it has never happened.
You don’t even need to include the last 2 words and the answer is still yes.
Let’s hope they give more old expansions the “remix”. It was fun!
I love how so many people seem to not know you can make 800 gold from doing a world quest where you ride a raft and take pictures.
Well, I think I found your real problem:
^ No professions
Go pick up mining/herbalism. As usual, when the subject of broke players comes up, I’m not saying spend hours on end farming, but at least put in minimal effort while you run around and do world quests
Many of you that constantly hover below 100K gold on all your characters combined might actually be surprised at what a difference this will actually make when you stop flat out ignoring something as basic as this.
And there it is. Knew that there would be at least one clown that would toss this out there.
Once again: how lazy do you actually have to be if you are totally unable to take five seconds to grab a node you happen to come across while you play the game?
An hour or two? Try 30 minutes.
My dedicated mining/herbalism alt can typically pull in about 15-20K in raw materials in that timeframe at the current prices. Granted, it’s a character that’s had a fair amount of time to run around and build up knowledge points with a well mapped out route, but even a fresh character SHOULD be able to pull at minimum 5-7K in no more than 30 minutes once you have a good feel for one of the better routes.
This is why I’m always dumbfounded by topics like this. Even if you are only grabbing a node every five minutes or so as you run around in the world questing, you really should be able to almost passively bring in 2-4K just from that alone.
That said, I’m never shocked when one of these folks complaining about lack of gold has zero gathering profession related achievements in their profile.
The reason you dislike durability, is the same reason it’s good for the game. You don’t like losing gold, but the game NEEDS gold sinks to combat inflation.
I would argue that they need even more consumables, maybe a tax of some kind on flying, to really bleed all the crazy hyper inflation out of the system.
geeezus.
Im just gonna stop mogging entirely at this rate.
Could be the end of my gaming here entirely because transmog IS my end game.
That’s the thing. I don’t come across them. I sit in Dornogal and play this as a lobby game. I queue for PvP and get summoned to the raid.
So if I want to make any gold, I have to go do chores and play the game in a way that I don’t enjoy.
That’s a you problem then.
I’d really like to know how folks like you functioned back in 2004-2008 when you were actually expected to do some legwork and couldn’t just sit in a city all day long.
At least BS can repair plate armor and weapons.
boutta need a token per month just to afford raiding with my guild
You do know this game is loosely based on life, right? You get to choose which professions you will use to GO OUT AND MAKE GOLD… just like real life, I’m getting ready to go make money, something I don’t particularly enjoy but is necessary to do thing like pay for my sub, and the tech I play it on.
You could be flying around picking up herbs and flowers while waiting. I’ve made enough to pay for my repairs through this entire expansion already, not stopping now, why would I? It’s so stupid easy to do, and if you end up needing something crafted you don’t have to buy all the mats!
But you keep on thinking this is actually a lobby game, tokens are cheap…
