So wait. Since ilvl only ever goes up until we hit a squish, does that mean repairs will only ever get more expensive as time goes by?
The last time I paid 600g for repairs was in SL after 8 wipes on Denathryus. Repairs and mogs should NOT be 8x the cost of SL.
100% on the nose.
I want to pretty much copy this response and post it every time someone asks.
We didn’t even have so many different currencies in earlier expansions in earlier expansions because we obtained gold rewards from simply playing the game and that was enough to get most things. People with professions could extra special things, typically mounts, but most people didn’t even need a profession because there was enough gold from just playing the game. That’s why they made the professions even have perks - they became, and were, something you did to enchance your class.
Now, after the WoD mission board fiasco, it’s currencies everywhere because the market is so busted that Blizzard is effectively trying to minimize it’s impact. So now we have resonancy crystals and kej because they can only be earned NOW, along with delves coins and trading posts coins, all done so Blizzard doesn’t have to worry about the golbins sitting on piles of gold. In the old expansions, this would all be gold and the rewards might have rep requirements, but still purchased with gold.
People will also tell you that the token doesn’t add to the amount of gold in-game; they are right - because one reason for the token is to remove that gold from the people sitting on large amounts of it.
Stop dying
It is everywhere on my server and the nodes can be shared with others. Usually takes me less than 10 minutes before theater to fly around and find enough for the quest. Though, I am usually in Steady Flight so it makes things easier to see on the ground.
Yep. But we’re getting an ilevel squish next expansion.
They are shared?
I found they always despawned if someone else got it first, unless it spawned some mob we could both tag. I also skyride, so that may contribute to me missing them.
So you run out of gold and have to buy more store p2w i mean worthless cosmetic tokens that conveniently gives you lots of gold xd
I can always click on the resulting little dirt piles, help kill the mobs , or help with the events like the loot bag and the thieving kobolds. Some I skip when someone else gets them like stepping on worms and the floating sporebits.
resulting little dirt piles . . . Pretty sure I’ve been missing this.
Not only that but raw gold income is lower than ever before. Some level 80 mobs are dropping no joke 30 SILVER and I’m not talking about the 700k hp ones, why is raw gold income so awful this expansion?
Average casual makes more than 70K gold in an hour. This is not hard. Gold sink costs are fine where they are.
M+ costs me about 200g every single run in just repairs. Consumable items adds another 1000g to 2500g depending on what key level. If I need to use jumper cables thats another 2k…
Bad runs cost a lot more and then we get 50g for the run.
Most world quests give little to no gold. The races only give a fraction of what they did before TWW.
Buy WoW tokens. Buy Buy Buy.
dont worry, they sell the solution: wow tokens
after all, how are you going to pay your repair bills if an m+ and a delve only give 30g each, you need to know how to farm gold efficiently and spend a few hours of your time daily on it…or…give more money to blizzard for gold
No it’s not fine.
If they’re going to keep the WoW token then they shouldn’t make gold this impactful.
There was a reason past expansions made gold worthless…
Found the poor…
They can’t. You’d have to die like 5 times to get it that high, which means gear which is almost broken.
Transmogging a full set is more costly, at like 800.
I think the game could definitely use more gold sinks to get currency out of the game, but services like repairs and transmog are a decent start since they more or less impact everyone.
At the same time, I’m probably the only person still playing who makes sure I go to a repair NPC I’m exalted with for the 20% discount on my repairs. Most people reading this probably don’t even know that’s a thing and they’re just throwing gold away every time they repair.
If you have to buy tokens to cover repair bills then you maybe need to be less unbelievably terrible and try spending more time alive than dead.
Completing the weekly on a single character is 1500-3000 gold. This week you even get 2 Pinnacle Caches. If that’s not enough for your death habit then at least do gathering on the way to wherever you’re planning to die more.
If you aren’t making money this expansion then you seriously are going out of your way to avoid it.
