Nah its that people tired of trash from blizz. I could just use flying mount since tbc. Wow now I can use an ability while flying!! waste of time, when they could of made actual content.
For now yes. This will change.
That is not what is written there. They said it will be the only option at the START of the expansion. They never said it was going to stay like that. The new system is part of the expansion, which is fine imo.
People’s requests were monkey pawed. And while dragon riding has a lot of positives to it, not everyone can do dragon riding. They did put in the baby whelp ride along thing so if you have a friend you can do that. But if you are on your own, well you get stuck, because dragon riding is not optional. It is part of the mainline story.
People were requesting regular flying. Dragon riding is not regular flying. It is faster, but it’s still more like gliding.
It’s not difficult to understand why people would still be upset, when they didn’t really get what they asked for there. And won’t get to use flying mounts unless Blizz changes their position on having regular flying in the Dragon Isles.
Will it thou? Have you heard a definitive on that? It would be very encouraging to know that information.
Today your first day on the forums? Where have you been… There are complaints close to daily.
Yes
I do instanced endgame content
If i’m out in the world it means there’s a reason for it and i want to get it done as easily and simply as possible so that i can go back to instanced content
I’m not trying to get involved in a minigame
And it’s not a new complaint, there were a ton when alpha and beta news were coming up
Minigames should always be opt in/opt out
People tend to be loud with their opinions on WoW and nothing will ever please everyone.
Adding these mechanics into flying is exactly the thing that Blizz needed to come up with in order to accomplish the immersion and intended first-time leveling experience while allowing for fast leveling on subsequent alts. Blizz will never give us straight-up flying through the first run of an expac for a whole hose of reasons, some of which I actually agree with. This is a great alternative. Eventually I’m sure we will have regular flying in Shadowlands but until then I am good with dragonriding.
Cause its the frickin forums.
this is where people come to be irrational about just about everything in WoW and demand it be changed to fit there tastes
I couldn’t finish the Drac starter quests because of motion sickness. I’m afraid DR will be more of the same.
Also once your max level how often do people even really go into the zones? maybe 5% of playtime. So you made your main feature something people only spend 5% of their time doing. When you could of taken the resources and actually made content people play. But no its a gimmick to lore in the casual pay pigs. Cant be used outside dragon isles, so it will be useful for a week max.
Or miss using their old mounts and have no interest in dragons. I find them too big or that they scale poorly. Also, anyone who loves playing a druid and misses flight form. I’m sure it will be fun, but I also see plenty of holes in Blizzard’s vision. If they believed in this they would have allowed standard flying along with it at the same time or maybe a month later. While this is a major feature and appears fun, most people are going to have to like everything else within WoW.
I think I read that normal flying would not be available at the start of the expansion. I’m fairly sure it was someone from board who used the “start” description.
Honestly though, who cares if Blizzard categorically stated it would never be available - they make poor decisions every single expansion and those decisions are usually corrected.
Well if you’ve paid attention thoughout the 6 months, or went back 6 months, you would see that people having mixed or negative feedback to Dragonflying is not unheard of.
Fun is subjective.
Yeah, that’s a valid complaint. Atfer a list of mandatory features like Garrisons, Artifact weapons, Class Halls, Visions, Covenents, and so on, i think making it actually opt out by offering normal flying would cater to both people here on what they consider fun.
I’m not flying because i love to fly, i’m flying because it saves me time going to where i need to with precision. Dragonflying doesn’t allow me to do that from the looks of it.
If it’s in the game, and we get to play with it, then it’s gameplay.
…I see you’re not here to have a conversation but to preach to the choir while spreading hyperbole here…
I don’t know about you or what game you played that is basically a loading screen, but, normal flying feels nothing like a loading screen. I rather not have my controls be hindered in order to have fun, thanks.
Again, fun is subjective…
And i’m more concerned about the utility of it. Not speed, utility. As in how useful is it really over normal flying?
Take Spiderman the ps4 game for example. His Webs are not only used for swinging and zipping around, stealth and combat, but there’s practically nothing stopping you from switching seamlessly between. (WoW and much of any other MMO does)
WoW has never been anything like that, all it does is offer the most basic of flying. And it’s honestly fine for this sort of game. For these sorts of genres go. At least for WoW, WoW isn’t good with vertical space a lot of the time, or how to utilize it.
Yes, GW2 exists, but that’s because that game was built to utilize the air in some fashion since it’s an action game. It had jump puzzles and allows you to control your jump arc. And Dragon flying (Or Bird flying, idk) is the natural evolution for that game.
Honestly, i much rather have free-running then Dragonriding, because it’s more innovative for this game then just throwing a few variables like momentum, gravity, and so on on a vehicle and making that the main feature.
Spiderman and Dragonriding are not the same thing as i’ve pointed out.
Subjectively speaking, Spiderman’s way more fun then Normal or Dragonflying.
…I don’t know any video game called “Max Max”, unless you’re talking about Mad Max which… Idk, a better example for this would’ve been GTA, but i digress since i don’t know about Mad Max so…
Again, not really the same thing, especially since now were talking about cars, somethng that only uses x and y coords while it rarely touchs on the Z.
Streamer and/or Youtuber said thing is good.
You really want to play that game?..
IDK why people are complaining about it, I’ve tried dragonriding in beta and it’s really fun.
They’re idiots. It’s an upgrade in every way except maybe afking.
There are MANY reasons friend. I tried it and it made me anxious and nauseated.
I think once people experience it for themselves it will probably be fine. I originally had my doubts about it because Blizzard hasn’t had the greatest history with just allowing us to fly, but after I saw people doing Dragonriding in the beta it looks fine.
Ah, understandable!
