There is content that you can’t do because of skill or time commitments than there is something that is supposed to be available to everyone but are not because of disabilities (I use that loosely as I wouldn’t normally consider it one.) Particularly when there is a quick and easy solution that could work. Open up normal flying. Most people will still use dragonriding as its far faster but it would make the rest of the customer base happy, including gatherers.
You’re very welcome! Sorry I got disconnected there, but hopefully that helped
I had to fly back but I got my first glyph and got back so that now I’m actually questing again. I would of never gotten this far without your help. Again thanks for helping me through that quest. It is much appreciated. We need more players like you that are willing to help others play when they reach areas where they are struggling.
I tried, the mechanics just didn’t work for me. But thanks to Monica who came and helped me with the last quest I don’t have to worry about dragon riding for awhile. I can go back to regular questing again. As long as I have no way to figure out diving that works I won’t be able to fully do dragon flying. But at least I can do enough to squeak by until hopefully we get regular flying again.
by the way all members in ferel inn are me except for two that have been mia for over 3 months.
Unfortunately that won’t fully stop bots, but should slow them down.
going through all this debating back and forth about dragon riding has reminded me how important that communities are.
As I stated earlier I have ptsd. One of my triggers is being around crowds of people which makes shopping difficult. Before Covid I used to do my grocery shopping at Walmart at 2 am when there were no crowds. But Covid changed that. I had to retrain my brain to be able to function around crowds. I still have times where I have an episode and totally freeze up. But at those times a manager will have an associate help me and my groceries to the car. The associate will drive me home and help put my groceries away in my room. The manager will follow in his car and drive the associate back.
But what does this have to do with dragon flying.
I hear that you don’t need to do dragon flying to get through dragonflight. That is so wrong. Yes I managed to get through the first couple of quests which took a lot of time. But fortunately Monica showed up to help out. The quest of race to skytop observatory is mandatory in the campaign. Unless you can finish it you can’t go any farther questing. Without Monica taking the time to track me down and offer to help get me there I would still be stuck and pissed off. Because of someone in the community taking the time to help I can continue to play and maybe have a better attitude about dragonflight as an expac. The game needs more people like Monica who are willing to help those who can’t do certain things in the game.
I still don’t like dragon riding and will never master it. But at least I can still be able to play and relax from time to time. And that means I won’t be killing my sub for now.
Merry Christmas and I hope all have a happy New year
It’s because:
- Some people have motion sickness (a valid complaint but none of my friends get motion sick from it so idk who is.)
- A lot of people want flying so they can bot mats and are making up as much as they can to be able to bot easily again.
you keep labeling people that don’t like dragon flying as bots and you’ll find yourself playing with yourself.
I play with friends, so I don’t have to worry about that. I also stated that people with motion sickness have a reasonable complaint.
Bots however, which are a real problem, and are a major opponent of dragon flying, are a real issue. And if you deny that, I doubt your motives.
you can doubt my motives all you want. for one I don’t worry about bots as I made my account self sufficient in the game. I don’t need gear any higher than what content I am doing so I’m not buying gear. And I have all my professions covered. My gatherers only gather while questing and all goes into one central bank for my other professions to use. I rarely use the AH for anything. I removed all that drama from my game.
And there are more handicaps and disabilities that keep people from being able to dragon ride then just motion sickness. I couldn’t get the mechanics due to my disabilities. But then again someone came to my rescue and got me through it.
I’ll bet if it was really checked out that about 1 or 2 percent of those that want regular flying and don’t like dragon flying are bots. So not wise to label all for 1 to 2 percent.
Bots have nothing to do with self-sufficiency. They have to do with breaking an in-game economy using cheats.
Fair enough! So long as it’s actually disabilities we’re talking about.
Flight paths and ground mounts I think are a decent compromise to that though since you only have to jump to reach certain vertical elements.
until Blizzard does something to eliminate bots they will always be there. And just because there is dragon riding now doesn’t mean that there will be less bots. They will figure out how to bot while dragon riding. I don’t let bots ruin my game. Because afterall it is just a game. It isn’t life and death.
Healthy in game economies are important because they make the buy and sell systems more accessible to ordinary players, and it dissuades the people who do this for IRL money from doing it.
Maybe they will eventually be able to bot dragon riding but they are really struggling to at the moment and I think that’s a good thing.
well if people played like I do there would be no need for mounts at all. I rarely use mounts and I’ve been playing for 10 years. As far as I’m concerned they could do away with mounts and I wouldn’t be unhappy.
well you enjoy your dragon riding and have a Merry Christmas
Thanks! I hope you enjoy the other aspects of the expansion!
Maybe stop listening to forum trolls and streamers who try to get views by pushing BS opinions even they don’t believe or care about?
Believe it or not, you’re not required to have an opinion or emotion about every single thing.
ok after messing around a bit I figured out the mechanics a little. My problem was I was using left click instead of right click. Still don’t like dragon riding but I do manage to get by well enough just from using my little bit of vigor and gliding. Got my 2nd glyph even though I haven’t really been looking for them. Just questing and if I run across one I go for it.
glad to hear it! Sometimes it’s easier to learn a mechanic when you aren’t getting frustrated by a quest objective. The good news is that all the dragon glyph unlocks are account wide, so if you level up a different alt you will have all your progression
