If the price for Gilneas is for Horde to blow up more Alliance stuff? Yes.
Don’t want that.
Have you asked yourself why player’s like Azighan is demanding for there to be a price? Gilneas reconquering doesn’t impact the Horde in any way but clearly that isn’t alright with him so there has to be something that gets taken away.
You do understand that the Worgen/Gilneans conquering Gilneas is a hug problem for the Horde right? Gilneas is within marching distance of Lordaeron and the forsaken. And with Ivar and the Bloodfang pack holding Fenris Isle and Shadowfang Keep, that’s a tough spot to be in if your the forsaken.
He doesn’t actually care. Most alliance posters don’t care about abandoned ruins until a horde poster claims something should be reclaimed. That alll of a sudden places like Strom are sacred holy toilets that should be enshrined in gold and horde blood.
Did I enjoy destroying Astranaar? No. I spared every guard, though it apparently didn’t matter. Did I enjoy burning the tree? No. That quest went out of its way to make me feel bad every step of the way. The bat was cool though.
Did I enjoy Theramore? Honestly, I can’t say I did. It felt unnecessary.
Did I enjoy Southshore’s destruction? I thought it was a funny way to end the rivalry, but I didn’t take any real pleasure from it.
What I did enjoy though? I thought the battle for Gilneas in Silverpine questing was amazing, and I LOST that fight. Don’t feel really one way or another about the Worgen starting zone though.
So tell me, how much Alliance stuff have I destroyed and fist pumped for? How much excitement have I had?
Where did I say I wanted to destroy Stromgarde? I explicitly said that the scenario would end at the border of Arathi.
Go ahead, quote me.
And yes, if presented correctly I would likely enjoy that ONE scenario of destruction, same with Rebel’s Fort as I’ll call the theoretical encampment made for the STV scenario.
Just like you would enjoy the destruction of Splintertree and Zoram’gar. I know you too after all best buddy.
I honestly couldn’t care less about splinter tree. It didn’t even cross my mind.
The whole Ashenvale retaking is to give Night Elves their forest back with some fortifications to explain why living with the Horde is an option now that they presumably can’t just barge into the forest and start murdering civilians for your fun.
Gilneas was overdue too being in limbo for so long but if these two positive developments require for you to destroy more Alliance holdings like Stromgarde or Aerie Peak I am not really interested in the idea.
But my approval isn’t really required for you to fanfic write the rise of a new troll empire that conquers all the troll land back (except blood elves of course since they are Horde).
So what you’re saying is that you wanted to kill Horde NPCs and take a contested zone for yourself? Wouldn’t that require the destruction of Horde stuff to do?
And you’re not willing to extend that offer to the other side? Seems you’re the one who wants to have his cake and eat it too.
I think everyone should get something in a world update, you clearly only want things for yourself.
I did tell you if Alliance is currently occupying a troll city you are more than welcome to take it back before you started the “well all land is actually troll land so let me blow up aerie peak”
The only reason I think Night Elves should get Ashenvale is because they need one win after you had your fun with WoT.
If anyone deserves a similar retake of land from the Alliance its the Forsaken after losing their leaders and iconic city.
The Worgen starting zone and the fighting in Silverpine between both groups was easily the best I’ve ever been a part of. Ivar and gang fighting just as dirty as the forsaken and converting people to protect them from being raised was smart also.
(Still salty I had to roll a forsaken/horde character to see it. No complaints otherwise)
Shadowlands has been mostly one of those Turn your brain off and don’t think too hard about it expansions. Once you do that, it’s actually enjoyable. I’ve come to like it since I honestly stopped caring about the overall Meta story
After all the alliance bastardry in the Barrens, I was all too happy to watch Northwatch and Theramore go bye-bye. (After being given proper warning so civilians could portal out, ofc)
It was actually around 260 years ago, since it took place 230 years before the opening of the dark portal. Dwarves that were alive at that time still exist today, and a lot of the current dwarves have either parents or grandparents that lived during that time.
The reason why the Gurubashi even attacked Stormwind in the first place is because the humans started expanding into stranglethorn and Gurubashi territory, see the Kurzen camps and buildings.
Another good one is Dun Morogh, and how the dwarves took it by force a long time ago, but the frost trolls endured in obscure locations, only being a small menance to the dwarven kingdom.
We straight up have quests that tell us to go and kill frostmane children to teach the trolls a lesson for them acting up in the dwarf starting zone. I love that one
I forget that Dwarves are so long lived sometimes. I wish Blizz would actually do something outside of Brann and Titan stuff with them every now and then.
One of things that I consider a lesson learned while interacting with people in regards to WoW-related topics, is that there is no place or NPC that “nobody cares about”.
IMO it is precisely the source of problems we have with the narrative that the devs things that their ideas or preferred characters can somehow be more important. And it leads where we are.
Arguably having locations going back and forth could’ve been a way to evolve the faction narrative. Sometimes the horde has Hillsbrad. Sometimes it goes back to the alliance.
But that of course assumes that the faction-based narrative would be important. If the story would go in the “big bad” direction, then it’s just a waste of resources.
