Why are people so mad at being ʷʰᶦˢᵖᵉʳᵉᵈ?

I close general and don’t open it back until I’m done raiding cause the current raid chat is often terrible.

the people who demanded for group loot are selfish

They get vault options.

I started playing WoW at the end of BC. In those years, not a single time has a whisper I’ve ever received been for anything good.

Either some weirdo being a pest.

Some junk guild random inviting/whispering. (Actually, this one should be bannable. Can’t stand in a town for 20 seconds on a guildless alt without getting ‘cold called’ by someone.)

People who want loot I got.

People wanting carried in 2s.

People mad.

I just put every person who whispers me on ignore unless it’s a pertinent question.

Doing raid is a group activity in itself I don’t get how you pulled that it was a singleplayer just from asking raids to drop more loot. And WHILE Blizzard wants to timegate stuff and timegating is normal then why isn’t M+ loot timegated much? xd

I can answer this from a personal anecdote as well. Everyone has various chat settings, including how many channels they’re in and how many people are speaking in them. If you have a highly active guild chat, or someone is spamming achievements like no one’s business, then there’s no guarantee you may get the answer. There’s no guarantee you may even see my response back.

I whisper people responses not because I’m seeking to act in secret, or “cloak and dagger” but rather because I want to make sure you get the message so your question is answered clearly and (with what I believe) to be correct, and it has the highest chance of being seen by you if I take the time to directly message it to you.

On top of this, general has a rate limit and I am a scatterbrain so it’s entirely possible I’ll reach the rate limit by accident trying to answer the question.

I’m not saying I approve of the raid drop rate – I don’t raid, I have no opinion on it, though I’m generally in favor of being generous on loot – but M+ is more recycled content through which little of the story is progressed compared to a raid, and it’s harder to carry someone through a five-man than a raid of equal difficulty.

Felpickle I love your name but now I’m hungry.

how about you just not harass other people for their drops?

Please explain how anything was ruined when you have opportunity to get more and this was changed to stop group stacking and we can now pass on the crap we don’t want instead of vendoring it?

I would take personal loot back in a heartbeat. My personal track record was that I got more loot in those expansions than I remotely have in this expansion since they changed it. You cannot argue with me about this, that is what happened and in addition I hate seeing the rolls. I don’t gaf if it’s giving me 3% higher of a chance, that’s not enough to put up with it. Just give me back personal and save that rolling crap for people who care.

Also I had to block a guy once who wanted my boe and I told him it was for an alt. I don’t think he understood what boe meant because he insisted that was dumb and I should give it to him. Sure, slappy, let’s give you 100k to make at the auction house because you claim to not understand how a boe works.

I might have got a few other whispers but honestly my whispers open in a different window so I need to click on them to see them, and I can pretty much 100% guess that ones I’m getting after winning something are people begging, so I literally don’t even need to look at them, I just close the window and leave group.

And while I’m here lets talk about the five minutes it takes to receive any piece of gear because at least three lame-os refuse to roll. That is more irritating than the whispering, yes I realize I can leave and it’ll be mailed to me, no that doesn’t make it any less annoying.

Just close the roll window?

The best solution for LFR is 1 of 3 things.

  1. More loot drops in general.
  2. Once you get a piece you are locked for the week on getting a piece from LFR.
  3. Make it like FFXIV lfr. You can keep running it until you get 1 piece.

Personally I like 3 as FFXIV has immensely better LFR than WoW.

Because the only way to justify it would be if it was a singleplayer game, but even then pacing matters. But since in singleplayer games your pacing is measured in game sessions, gear and the like has to be more abundant. In multiplayer games that are meant to last players for months … yah’, the pacing is going to be different.

First of all… timegated is an overused term, because folks don’t get how or why the phrase is useful. Raid gear? That ain’t timegated. It is “gated” by RNG and the demand (the number of people rolling for it) dictates how quickly you can gear up. That isn’t “timegating” as you aren’t reliant on time to get the gear, you are reliant on the availability of it - which in turn is dictated by other things like RNG and demand.

M+ isn’t timegated either but it is gated by other aspects. RNG-wise it is many times worse, and demand-wise it isn’t as big of an issue but the demand can be that you can’t target specific items properly meaning that it is compounded RNG. It is also limited by that on average, the loot from M+ dungeons is much, much worse than the gear you are expected to have for the M+ gearing breakpoints. But it makes up for that in that you can do it infinitely and realistically speaking the vault will offer better rewards simply due to the difference between trying to do Mythic raiding compared to high M+.

So there is a gearing difference there, but that’s based off of the vault - not M+ itself as the activity for gearing, which is important in terms of pacing. On average if you can do Mythic raiding you’ll get Mythic-geared much faster than someone doing M+, since you have access to more than one piece’a’week.

Which means, again … this is all about pacing the game correctly. One can debate the actual ilvl which some people furiously do on these forums, but in terms of pacing … the game is pretty much spot on right where it is right now. With the exception for the PvP crowd which should be fixed in the next expansion by what Blizzard has said. But they are 100% getting screwed over pacing-wise currently.

How is your text like that on whispered? Lmao wtf.

I can’t really take your post seriously if you deny the reality that raids are timegated reward-wise. The probability of getting all the items you want in one raid is terribly low near non-existent (if not impossible). And a raid is a group activity, the whole group is timegated in the way they will get their rewards as they cannot farm more than one raid a week and you cannot fully gear in one raid a whole group.

Timegated content: You gain access to the content as time passes, unlocking or making more content available.
Examples: LFR wings are timegated but the reward structure of each wing is not. You can gain loot from each boss, people can trade you loot, and you are also capable of not getting any loot. This is why the LFR wings are timegated, but the reward structure of LFR is based on RNG rather than timegated content (beyond the unlockable wings).
Normal and above have no timegated content, but it has content that is gated by other mechanics. These mechanics are such that you aren’t supposed to get all gear that you want immediately (ergo why Blizzard spent so much time to redesign the way loot is distributed and tradeable in order to crack down on split-raids).

No. Raids aren’t timegated. They are “gated” by other mechanics, that makes it take more time to get geared. Those two aren’t the same thing. End of story.

Rewards can be timegated and timegate your gear progression.
