It’s just so straight BIZARRE. The raid clearly is over tuned but there’s tons of people in this forum claiming it’s “just fine” while also claiming their guild cleared more than just that first Dread Lord boss. My brothers and sisters in Christ, are you all not aware that Warcraft Logs is a thing? Statistically if that site says there’s only NINE guilds with postings of killing 2+ bosses, then strong % chance yall are lying about clearing more than 1 boss.
Then those same “god like” forum posters metaphorically post we all just need to “get g00d newbs” and that Blizz should leave things as is. I’ll never understand why people come to this forum and just verbal vomit straight out lies.

The only people saying it’s “fine” are the ones who distinctly didn’t do the raid or zugged the first boss with 40 people.
Looking over Wowprogress, there’s literally only 9 guilds in the entire world that have killed the 2nd boss with 20 people. Going up to raid size 40, that number increases to…20. 20 guilds have killed the second boss.
But no, it’s not overtuned right? people are just bad right? we need to just “git gud” right?
Hard content is fine, I like hard content. But this isn’t hard content, it’s hideously overtuned content that even the sweatiest of sweatlord guilds are barely getting through.

None of the people saying its fine have done the raid. Theyre watching streams and posting to troll.
Hopefully the team just went to sleep last night after boning the majority of us by patching the reflect exploit and they tweak Beatrix during the day.
Its unfortunate it had to be this way because the bad taste is hard to spit out. I still like the raid, it just feels like theyre playing a joke on us or they forgot to tell us it requires 40 people

Most people on the forums are trolls mainly those who watch streamers than claim they completed a raid.
I watch a group of 20 spend 9 hours yesterday to down 1 boss and die for 7 hours straight on the second another group of 32 people do the same and another group cheese the second boss before getting off.
All where naxx geared players doing near their SIM Damage. I tried the first boss with 26 people got it down to the third phase 3 times lowest hp 31%. We had 10 naxx geared 10 new players and 6 people with tier 2 equivalent gear.
With 26 Full naxx geared players doing what they should be able to do fully raid buffed and consumed. I could see us doing first boss. Second boss without cheesing it is a no go. Cheesing it maybe. 3rd and 4th boss are not impossible.
But we need Gear and these guys are tuned to 20 man fully Enchanted BIS Raid Consumes and World Buffs. I think they wanted it Over-tuned for the first couple weeks. Slow but steady nerfs. They did a 50% hp nerf on First boss mobs because they where wiping the best guilds with all the gear and buffs.

Yeah exactly what I’m saying. Like… I was watching some streams yesterday of sweat lords in there with full world buffs and consumes and they were PRESSED when going up against even that second boss. It’s pretty much Sunken Temple all over again. They clearly overtuned to the max in fear the raid would be blown over in a couple hours but at the expense of all other players.
I’ll say that SoD’s biggest lesson taught is you definitely need a PTR for Raid content. You can get away with no PTR if it’s just new quest lines or non end game group content (or even the last boss of a raid for surprise effect), but YIKES what a banner SoD has been for the value of testing things out with lots and lots of good ol’ fashioned warm body humans on a PTR.

Yeah it’s unfortunate that the climate of WoW and the forums in general can be so toxic or geared towards trolling a lot of the times. We need to try to do better as a community and ignore those who mostly engage in this. I agree with you Burninate. The raid is def. overtuned at 20 and needs adjustments for this coming week. I just hope Blizzard isn’t too heavy handed and completely takes all the fun out of the fights because right now the bosses are pretty cool.

Even if they did a 50% hp nerf to the 2nd boss, only around 1% of 20 person groups would be able to beat it. From logs and streams, most 30 person groups still wouldn’t clear it with a 50% hp nerf.
That top 0.1% playerbase that wants challenging raids where they have to wipe 50+ times before downing an early boss are probably loving this raid so far. The average sod player that has raided every phase so far, not so much.
Guys, they are trolls and only here to get one thing from you…a reaction.
Come to the forums enough and you can start to pick out the names.

Only 9 guilds cleared it with 20.
I don’t disagree with you about the average sod group. I told my guild too I found it strange that we didn’t have any raid quite like this one before. Kinda disrupts the flow and what people expect. I am really enjoying it though so far and just hope that there is still some semblance of mechanics is all I mean. I don’t want them to nerf it so much that every fight becomes Patchwerk like a lot of bosses we have experienced.

Nah Live PTR is more fun. So sick of everything being known when entering a ‘new’ raid.

I agree Sigemund. I know it tilts some people, but I’d rather have 1 week where the tuning is off followed by adjustments than for everything to be spoiled. I had an absolute blast last night.

I think there are alot of people who enjoy progression and learning new fights. However there is a difference between progression and just wasting time and consumes on an overtuned boss and/or trash packs.
nobody is forcing you to read every single news article and guide about the game

A raid group is more than just myself, and if this were on PTR, even if my preference is otherwise I’d be obligated to learn the fights. Because I don’t let my personal preferences negatively impact the experience of those I actually play with.

You’re reading warcraft logs wrong. There is 68 guilds who killed the 2nd boss. As of 1:42pm PST This is not including people who use personal logs for their guild. Which is not tagged under their guild name.
Right now there is 164 logs split between 40 and 20 man. Minus the same log that was uploaded
Nothing is “obligating” you to play on PTR.
I haven’t touched PTR at all. Doing just fine.

Feeling like you have to bring 40 players to a 20-man was a huge L. Guilds needing to bring 10-20 pug raiders means way less gear for their core teams.

I went into the last two retail raids completely blind despite having PTR phases. That’s a personal choice.
