I don’t remember this feature… I did skip DF so maybe it was a DF only “feature” otherwise I’ve never known this to be an actual feature.

LFR is so easy you really don’t needs that many heals. I would afk on sham and just press totems to make it look like I was doing something. If anything he was just helping it end faster…
Easy dungeons change the player’s spec to match their role but Raid Finder does not. I wonder why that is?
Debatable because we don’t know how it went. Some Raid Finder groups wipe because healers went dps and the other healers were really really bad. Like, lower healing than dps players bad. Always check the other healers before switching or you risk that happening, even in such easy content.
You need healing in LFR?
I guess OP wanted to wait half an hour for the queue to pop instead, because they were waiting on yet another healer who wasn’t even needed.
In LFR my holy DPS is life changing.
Spec and role should stay locked when you queue. If you walk in with a group, change at will. But if you queue up as a tank or healer to skip the queue times, and then suck as a tank or healer cause you are secretly DPS, you can enjoy the 30 min kick while the group finds an HONEST player. 
so your healer healed you guys kept you alive while doing dps and you still decided to kick them? hmmmm i wonder who the a hole is in this scenario…

I do this all the time on heroic dungeons. Queue as tank and switch to fury. Great way to blast a call to arms for ruins. I’m guessing that’s the case on LFR of the other healers can handle it.
I don’t remember that being a thing but you don’t want to stop people from swapping specs, the game is kind of built around talent flexibility now.
It’s hilarious how backwards this game is.
PvE where players really need to be locked to their role to keep them from reaping fast queues then hoping no one bothers kicking them?
No role lock.
PvP, where players need to be flexible in their role in case the queue sticks them in a BG with no healer, or not flag carrier, or epic BG with no tank (you’d think this can’t happen in 40 players, but you’d be surprised)?
Role lock.

I can understand if you’re wiping and heals are the cause.
Whenever I queue as healer, it’s usually just one or two healers doing the lions share of the healing anyhow.
At this point in the raids lifespan, most LFR groups are melting the bosses anyway.
Yup, it was a thing in WoD. Look it up.
It could swap you upon entering the raid, but then you swap out after joining.
There is a guild on the anniversary classic realm called “Did You Die Though” and I love it. I giggle every time I see one of them.

You mean in Challenge Mode dungeons. Raids are not CMs.
FFXIV locks you to that class/role for its pve queues.
