Since the removal of scaling in all but name the more undergeared players you have the more likely to lose.
Hell, you see people with 90k health agains players with 400k health, sounds balanced right.
If LFR and dungeons have ilvl requirement so should bgs
It’s random bgs. It’s casual pvp so if players want to use them that way, it’s their choice.
This is relevant however some perspective may be needed. Last night i joined a BM hunter in 3s. He had about 260k health. I figured we would be at a disadvantage due to his gear.
However once inspecting him he was fully geared in his tier level of arena.
So if he only played for pvp he is fully geared yet at a massive disadvantage against people who run raids and M+
Is it completely his fault for competing in a system that is stacked against him?
People like you will always complain about BGs. Even if they added ilvl req or split into brackets, there will always be some joining with minimum reqs and people who are vastly overgeared.
BGs are just for fun. If you want a more balanced challenge, go ranked

You just perfectly capsulized the failure of BFA pvp. You must pve to pvp.
And yet classic is being heralded as a savior of wow even though pve gear comes way before pvp gear. thinking
It wasnt as much when scaling was an actual thing, but then bad players complained they couldnt stomp others with their high gear so we are back at this terrible place

Nobody forces you to queue up for BGs and there are a variety to choose from and the bigger battlegrounds (Epic) allow you to be a little more strategic because there are many roles players can fall into. I was 120k health in the BGs a few months back and got slaughtered but that’s how it goes. You can defend, you can scout, you can go with the offense, you can stay with people doing only recaps, there are so many things you can do that have nothing to do with gear or ilvl. Put in time, learn to play better, eventually gear up, that’s how you win more and it’s fun if you can see past your ilvl as defining whether you can win or not. That’s the worst thing you can do because you defeat yourself before you even try.
Given that you can finish all your raids for the week in a single evening, doesn’t seem like a massive chore to do both.
To be fair, normal clears on palace take a little under an hour and a half. Heroic just a tad longer if your group is newish to it. Same concepts. Not saying it is a good thing though because both systems from classic and BFA suck.
Tbh I wouldn’t say that is true.
The only time that happens is when you play since early on in the patch and your ilvl is high and therefore ahead of most which allows you to get to sometimes overly geared groups that one shot it because they have also been playing since early in the patch and dealt with that content before.
The moment you change to an alt you can’t see high ilvl pugs and you vns join group that might take 30 mins for just the 2 first bosses and trash. And wipe s lot to even obvious mechanics.
The only way to have a reliable fast heroic considering the amount of trash these days is by being ahead of the curve, not the achievement but literally ahead gear wise so you only end up in groups with ppl like that.
Now if you are talking about a guild that I]is a different level of commitment
If this is in response to me then I have no clue what you are talking about. Most guilds I know will spam mythic +s with you to help get you geared. Heck we took someone fresh alt to 430+ in under 4 hours of mythic + and one normal EP clear. Him running with some of us who didnt need the gear helped as well because we passed all of our loot to him.
Just need to find a guild that does these things and it is in the realm of possibility. Last night I joined one of their in progress heroics and got like 1 or 2 kills cant remember and ive never even been in heroic and couldnt tell the difference. They cleared the whole place with 2 carries in about 2 hrs.
Yeah, was referring to pugs though, guilds sometimes need commitment many people don’t want to deal with.
It is definitely way faster with a competent guild

@OP, I’m sure someone has said this already, but if you’re interested in running with people geared to your satisfaction, go play rated.
I was 375 when I joined a few weeks ago and didn’t do badly at all. Unless there is a rule change I don’t mind if the BGs have lower ilevel players as it can happen on both sides, just like good players vs bad players lol
