Why are groups even allowed in delves?

wasnt it supposed to be solo content? isnt the group equivalent of a delve just called a dungeon? allowing in and trying to balance delves around groups seems like the equivalent of allowing in and trying to balance dungeons around full raid parties.

what are we doing here?

Not exclusively. It’s end game prog that can be done solo or in any group size.

No? It’s gives up a solo gearing option, but WoW is still a MMO and incentivizes group activities.

Blizzard may be trying to have its cake and eat it too. The problem is that it’s very difficult to adequately develop content that’s meant for solo and group play interchangeably. They’re going to have to pick a lane on this, and it should be solo.

It would be the same issue if they started allowing soloists to do keys. They would have to change things that would affect group play. Both demographics would be unsatisfied with the result.

It’s best to leave the keys as the group option (unless they allow AI followers in those), and keep delves as the solo gearing round. They should also add mythic tracking to delves.

It’s an MMO RPG. Enough said.

They currently want health and damage to be the primary difference between solo and group delves.

This just isn’t enough. 1 interrupt vs 5, 1 class tool kit vs 5. Health and damage has a ceiling before people are getting one shot, the very mechanics of group play are going to have to be different. Probably are going to need to spawn more mobs, probably are going to need to speed up cast times as well.

It’s going to be very had to keep solo and 5 man close to the same difficulty.

I’m convinced people that make posts like this on the forums don’t actually even play the content.

I don’t really care if people want to do it in groups. As long as it’s fun and rewarding for me on my own. And so far it is. I’m having a blast.

The type of players delves were designed for want to do everything in groups. Delves were originally intended for solo play. Adaptation to groups was an afterthought, which is why they bungled the difference between solo and group play so badly.

Some classes are just awful to do alone on and it’s impossible to balance. If every class had a 30 second CD silence then you’d balance it easy around that. But as we know some classes have long silence CDs like Shadow Priest who have to give up a spec talent point and a second if they want it shortened to 30 seconds compared to Shamans who have their silence in the class tree on as a 1 point node on 12 second CD.

There’s a lot of things we do in this mmorpg that are solo only. I don’t think delves should only be solo, but solo first.

was intended for small groups and solo players. Personally thinking full groups are too large for them tbh. But 1-3 players would probably be a good target, but if they must nerf them down in size. I wouldn’t be super happy if they went lower then a max group size of 2. While it don’t affect me I simply think its wrong to take away activities that families can do together without outside help. Delves tbh is a great family activity.

This is what I’m thinking is probably the cause for how things are, so many maintenances, etc…

why do we allow soloers to queue to LFR?

What it’s incentivizing is group exploits, which are skewing the mechanics against solo play.

Who are you designing for, Blizz? You have to decide…and then effing stick with it! This yo-yo balancing is a painful joke.

Because you’re a nice person who is kind to the socially awkward, like me and for this, I thank you.

Yes go solo Tmogs.

I don’t think you know what exploit means.

Oh ok, cool, so we’ll just add 40 man raids to keys and people can just half AFK then. I mean it’s an MMO, why not?

the groups at the start of the season definitely exploited bigger group size = less hp and damage from mobs and bosses per player
