seems pretty insane to have to go through 2-3 days of waiting to swap covenants (or at least back to a convenant). Isn’t this just a wee bit unnecessary at this point?

Nah, I think it’s just a lack of understanding by the playerbase. Covenants aren’t a talent row, they’re a subclass. I think it’s pretty generous to be able to switch at all.

One ability plus conduits. I’m not saying it’s perfect, just explaining what their stated intention was (which people like to ignore). It’s why you will never see covenants “unlocked” anymore than I will be casting chaos bolt on my hunter 🥲

The complaint is that the buffs and nerfs to covenants constantly change the meta which forces people to switch covenants if they want to continue to perform at the same level, but at the same time Blizzard makes it difficult to swap back and forth.

Bro were you even reading the forums before SL launched? People were whining about being “locked out of their skillz” from basically day one. And now it’s ended up being leagues easier to switch covenants compared to the original design. Back in vanilla when there were balance changes people complained then too, just had to suck it up and pay the 50g to respec
Yes, it is insane, that is the game’s way of saying “You are not supposed to do this”. This is necessary in order to make covenants more interesting than a talent tree or a reputation bar.
Dude just because it’s easier than it was doesn’t mean that it still doesn’t completely suck lol.

So pull the ripcord and let us use all the top tier covenant abilities simultaneously? If you want that level of power maybe try Gary’s Mod. You can basically do anything in there, it’s like a sandbox god mode toy.
Dude what? Nobody is asking for that lol. People just want to be able to switch between covenant abilities more easily because different covenants are much better or worse for different content.
It’s not fun that my covenant is great for pvp but terrible for raids. I want to do both and I want to perform the best I can in both.

it’s really hard for me to understand why anyone is defending the difficulty behind making covenant swaps so hard? I have a full time job and to waste several days switching from Necrolord to Venthyr (because I wanted to Ele now I want to Enhance) is really just brutal. I want to be able to log on and enjoy myself immediately. It’s really the same reason I want Solo Queue arena… times have changed man; I know this is an MMORPG but there is no real reason why you can’t make some concessions for modern gamers.

Uhhhh they failed horribly at that. Data is in on this one and it’s objectively a failure.
Also one of the dumbest things I have ever seen. Why tf would you lock off 3/4th the end game content? I mean this is also the same potatoes that designed the maw and made a hard limiter to how long you can spend in that content so I’m not really surprised…
