Every game I’ve tried to do doing PvP to level has multiple level 120s in it. I’ve heard there’s some sort of exploit with the party sync option to make this possible-these people have twice as much HP as everyone else or more and are almost impossible to kill. The way I know is I check their armory pages afterward, they all have legendary cloaks and level 60+ necklaces and it’s insane.
There also seems to be some kind of funkiness going on in the 20 to 29 bracket, but that one has always been wack so I don’t mind it as much. Still though, can anything be done? This is even more ridiculous than going against a full team of twinks.
The 20-29 bracket is full of FtP toons, maxed out at 20 with whatever BiS gear they can get at that level. Nothing wack going on, it’s just the nature of the game in that bracket.
DK’s (120) have death grip in the 20-29s, DH (120) are another interesting class with abilities.
Are they doing this to get us prepared for SL?
Or is what I have heard the real reason Twinks were separated within BFA…
One of Activisons main investment areas (120) endgame was being out shadowed by lower levels Xpoff participation…
120s can join lower levels with strong spells/abilities without issues.
Who are you talking to? I’ve never turned XP off in my life. The forums haven’t updated my level for some reason, I’m actually level 114.
I just don’t know why I’m going against level 120s in a leveling bracket, it makes no sense and is unfair since they obviously have way higher gear due to being at level cap. I thought max levels were supposed to only fight other max levels.
I’m wearing quest rewards lol. Hardly anything that great. But thanks for the compliment.
You are right though in that most people are too lazy to do a few basic quests once they change brackets, I’ll give you that much. Interesting that you think my gear is at such a level that these scaled down 120s with legendary cloaks who have almost 3 times as much HP as I do should be easy kills though, seems an exaggeration.

So it is as I thought, 120s are able to scale down and join leveling brackets. Scaling must be pretty wack when their damage and HP numbers are over twice as much as people who are actually leveling, hope they fix that if this is going to continue to be a thing.
One has found a way to queue random Bgs with the leveling pop while remaining XP off. Not sure if the old macro works still but I am sure One is going through some extra stuff to get into BG’s on that Twink S-Priest while maintaining XP off.
BfA has been a very Poor xpac for the general playerbase anyways. 8.3 made it even worse at end game. If you aren’t feeling it just unsub and wait a few months for Shadowlands to come out. That’s my plan anyways. 4th time to unsub in BfA… Hopefully the last till Shadowlands…
Lucky for me Warcraft III just released so I have something to do to fill my warcraft fix in the mean time
You really shouldn’t talk about things you have zero knowledge of.
Twinks are not just someone with above average gear. Twink are explicitly players with BiS gear for their bracket. Twinks are toons who have turned off XP and gotten the absolute best piece of gear in every slot, with the best gems and the best enchants on them. Saying someone in quest gear is a twink just because some other clowns in the bg might have worse gear is just laughably absurd.
Twinks are simply those who stick to a particular bracket. You can twink via consumables (Example: the 99s bracket with Felstones), you can twink via gear, you can twink simply through being an OP spec at a particular bracket (Legion Survival hunters amirite?).
Twinking doesn’t demand BiS, but it heavily encourages it.
Hmm interesting. To me twinking has always meant turning off xp and getting the best gear for said bracket. IMO someone with consumables or playing an OP spec that didn’t turn off XP and gear up isn’t really a twink, twink-adjacent or soft-twink maybe? To be a full on twink you have to have turned off XP and geared to the teeth in my mind, perhaps I have a too narrow definition tho .
Either way I think we both, and anyone else with a few brain cells to rub together, can agree that someone leveling in quest gear isn’t a twink simply because they have better gear than some other levelers in that bg. As the comment I was replying to was trying to assert, that’s just absurd, people will call anyone that’s not a sh!tter in greys a twink these days.
Yeah for sure it’s an interesting discussion I think, unpacking what terms mean to different folks. I guess if I think about it to me the main defining feature of a twink is turning off XP, which generally goes hand in hand with getting BiS after turning it off. Hell the go-to site for twinking is even called “xp off”, so I guess in my mind they where always linked.
I was mainly just commenting to reply to the 2head who claimed a leveler in quest gear was a twink lol. People are so trigger happy to claim anyone who beats them is a twink, hell I’ve been called one before while leveling alts just because I had full heirloom gear on .
Yeah it’s pretty funny. If they think someone leveling with some BoA on is a twink they’d have a meltdown if they ever came against a true twink back when they were still a thing lol. People just look for any excuse, easier to blame someone else than admit they are piss poor geared or bad at PvP.
Didn’t you know about the fabled 54 twinking bracket. They are terrors of the battlegrounds, truly gods.
No, actually. Twinks have BiS gear in every slot, enchants, etc etc. For example, look at One’s profile (the void elf priest at the top of this thread) How many 119s do you see with over 100k health unbuffed and a HoA that high?
