Title says it all im confused. Shes interesting since she comes from the lothar line but a part that split off years ago. She is very obviously onto anduin or at least getting a strong friendship. Top it off really cool shield arm which is pretty metal. Honestly we have been struggling for a cool light based character for ages. Look at turulyon dude came back then nothing. Anduin himself been mia but this all is bringing him back. Idk its weird i guess.

Ok ill give you the elf human thing but at least i feel anyways they gave her more depth then say the windrunners. She least seems to not be a full carbon copy of an old char. For the record i like the windrunners but man…same stuff different elf.

Yeah but culture war brain rot tourists will use “woke” to describe anything that isn’t just a big white dude in armor because they’re so seeped into that crap that they can’t look at media of any kind without thinking “Is this game on MY side?”
It’s totally fine if people just don’t click with her or find her compelling, but the majority of complaints are from people just trying to stir the pot.

I don’t hate the character in and of itself, but I think her being a “Lothar” is extremely cringe and a retcon for no good reason.
Lothar was definitively stated to be the last of his line, and it isn’t really a trivial fact it was the basis for the formation of the Alliance. It was the only reason the elves agreed to help.
I can stomach a retcon if it’s done for a good reason, or is in service or something but I’m not sure what the point of it is. Literally nothing changes about the story or her character if her last name is Smith. The Lothar thing just kind of makes her feel like a shoved in OC.
Which is a shame, because barring the weird decision to give her a lance despite the fact we never see her mounted, I don’t think she’s a bad character, if a little vanilla.

I mean it’s been said in several threads.
She’s down right ugly in her out of game art. As in smashed with the ugly stick. Not as bad in game but not hot either.
Using a lance for ground combat and using a shield that she doesn’t have an arm to wield makes absolutely no sense.
And her saying that she doesn’t want an arm because she doesn’t want to have to learn to use it, has to be right up there with “We cull the weak to protect the strong.” in dumbest lines in WoW.
Having said all that I like her voice actor and probably would like her a lot more if it wasn’t for all the things I mentioned.

Aside from the obvious visuals or meanings one could draw between this new character lecturing Anduin, it is abit a stretch for someone in Anduins position to buy some strangers chumped up pep talk when that isn’t what he needs to properly heal.

Faerin is fine, I’m not a huge fan of the “Woke” stuff that gets shoved down throats but also not a great fan of “Anti Woke” and I think people hating on Faerin are doing it because they are so Anti Woke brained they can’t see past the checkboxes that happen to be part of the character. Anti woke brain people can’t rationalize that sometimes a character just happens to be a certain way simply because it fits the story they want to tell and not some agenda.

People are using her as a proxy of their frustrations with modern media and how they feel unrepresented and slighted. So instead of addressing that and how they’d like to see representation that makes them feel good, they seek to tear her down and get into online fights
