I don’t play a shaman currently but I have in the past and really enjoyed elemental… since I will not have to raid or mythic plus it really doesnt matter unless I start dying alot in delves… other than that I’m not giving up on shaman to me there fun to play ,can a mage self heal ( no) can a mage turn into a ghost wolf (no)… can a mage shoot lightning from there hands (no)
since I will be playing 85% solo and not bothering anyone I dont see the problem.
I don’t watch max but considering his role in the game I don’t understand how he frequently seems so clueless about classes.
Unless he feigns cluelessness in a way to not overly criticize blizzard? I don’t know.

Okay yes that is very much a banable offense. Big difference between voicing frustrations and telling a dev to get hit by a bus.

I’ve always played Warlock. I have been trying out Shaman and trying to play both Elemental and Enhancement, but both feel so weak. I solo a lot and don’t do raiding at this time, although, I have found a guild willing to work with me and just have fun. I have played DPS but will also like to try my hand at healing. I’ve done it in other games, so it is appealing. Shaman sounded like a good choice on paper, but playing… meh.
Damn it was a bus shock revival. Well boys pack it up, the last time the devs got bus shocked the class was unplayable for a long time.

I am looking at Spellslinger Arcane and Chosen of Elune Balance. Might also consider WW, but I’ve been burned by that before too.
Shadow always feels like a good option. Even if the rework is bad, shadow priest is guaranteed at least one rework per expac.
Shaman til the day I die. Then I’ll use my reincarnate defensive and keep going.
Devastation has a lot of tools that I always wanted as Elemental. Apart from the 25y range, which I have gotten used to and only is awkward on some fights like Nymue/Sarkareth, I love the spec. Definitely my main until Elemental feels good enough for me to play again.

I’ll always main my shaman. I rolled it day 1 of BC and it has been the toon I’ve put most effort into. I’ve always side mainded paladin, and I still enjoy it as well, so I’d say I’ll be the same next expac with possibly playing monk a bit as well.
Dragonflight shaman will be the same in TWW. The legendary talents till be broken for a whole patch unless all of wow starts making shamans and crash servers like warriors did way back. But that won’t happen.

100% mained shaman since vanilla, I think we are literally C teir in everything, zero communication with devs or community leaders, and the massive activity to payoff ratio is insane. Oh well, this is probably the only expansion I will never be excited for. Not only for lore, but for the general state of the game.
I’ll never fully give up on my shaman but I’ve let the rust build on it for sure.
I’m intrigued by the idea of a physical totemic enhance build and a couple other things, but I’m waiting to see if they’ll rework the spec. I love the elementalist battlemage vibe, always have, but we’ve had pretty much the same build(s) for the entirety of DF.
Lately I’ve been maining DK, warlock and shadow priest and man… the love all 3 of those classes are getting is making it real hard to hang on to my beloved shaman lol, but heres hoping

If elemental stays exactly as it is, I’ll still be playing shaman as a main alt in TWW. Ele is really fun in RSS and BGB, which is my main focus of WoW these days.
Are you on Twitter? I screenshottes it a d put it up there.

My shaman isn’t invited to my warband anymore. Sorry big bro.
I’m going with Evoker for my elemental magic fix. Every hero tree feels good for our lizzid friends in beta.

I almost certainly won’t be shamaning in TWW, but I’m undecided on what to play. The playstyle I always gravitate towards in RPGs is the melee class that mixes weapon strikes with magic. For WoW that leads me to frost DK, ret pally, and enhancement shaman.
Ret pally:
Pros: everything
Cons: There are just so many of them (and rightly so). I’m not one of those people that needs to be the only one playing my class, but good grief. You can’t swing a dead cat without hitting three or four ret paladins. I’m not even sure how they all find groups.
Frost DK:
Pros: DK was my main for a little over 3 expansions and I would love to play it again. The changes for TWW look excellent.
Cons: The changes to frost don’t fix the fundamental problems of frost. Trying to balance two different weapon types in one tree isn’t working, and frost is still very cooldown dependent and does poo damage outside of them.
Decisions, decisions.
