Tauren as a race have REALLY intense trauma and PTSD associated with centaur. Centaur almost drove them to extinction, the NPCs you can talk to say how they had to grow up with one/no parents, and this was all within living memory. It wasn’t centuries ago and they’re holding a grudge: this was something so many living Tauren dealt with, to the point that earlier in WoW you couldn’t actually RP a fully-grown Tauren who was born in Thunder Bluff and have it be lore-compliant.
Many tauren in the Horde lived in fear of centaur for longer than they’ve actually been IN the Horde.
Honestly if he had been fully accepting of the centaur, there’d be topics going “OMG Baine accepted them so fast it’s stupid when what centaur did to the Tauren”

Baine saved the Horde in bfa. Had he not done what he did then the Horde would have been destroyed.
By the end of the war and tides campaign the Horde, on both sidss of the war, was said to be losing badly on all fronts.
Baine? I was too happy for Ebornhorn that I didn’t notice Baine. I think Ebornhorn gonna be the new Earth aspect with the support of the black drakthyrs.
If it wasn’t for Baine we’d still be burning down Alliance Cities. He actually destroyed the Horde.
You were losing the war. Baine wasn’t the only one that wanted new management too. He just acted sooner.
He didnt act until Alliance lives were at risk. When Taurens were slaughtered, he just mumbled “For the Horde”.
Nope. Horde was just about to crush all the Horde Traitors and Alliance in one fell swoop. Sylvanas had everyone right she wanted them.
But then the game would be over so blizzard opted out with that Bull$*** Sylvanas emotional breakdown instead.

I can’t remember where, but even prior to this questline wasn’t there some mention of Baine having anger issues that he was actively working to suppress?
Would make more sense if that’s the case. Maybe it was a book or something, but I can’t remember right now.
He acted because their Warchief was ramping up the war crimes and the war seemed pointless. They were also losing badly and had no moral ground to support it. Their leader was acting odd and being a dictator too.
Anger is a bit much he just whines constantly.
You can literally lol murder his family infront of him and hes still follows your orders.

Implying slyvannas can accomplish anything even with plot armor isn’t very believable
And when Sylvanas slaughtered Taurens…that wasnt odd or being a dictator?
When she was actively killing members of the Horde…that wasnt enough to push him to act?
It was only after she threatened his beloved Alliance that Baine “acted”.

Do you ever get tired of being so dramatic? Asking for a friend.

I’m sure it was odd and wrong but he kept his head down like the rest of the Horde.
Their Warchief was escalating and he was forced to open his eyes and stop looking away.
What she did also spat on honor which the Horde prides itself on.
So when Sylvanas kills a bunch of Baine’s friends and fellow Tauren. Outright murders many members of the Horde. It was odd and wrong…but keep you head down.
When Sylvanas attempts to kill Alliance. Well now things are escalating and its time to open your eyes.
See how this is making people from the Horde not like Baine?
I really don’t think op thinks that, or was even trying to imply that at all.

Baine wasn’t cool with that. Stop pretending he was. Like the rest of the Horde they trusted into their Warchief and the Horde. As the war dragged on and the war crimes started piling up, and they were losing the war, they started looking at things differently.
Had their Warchief won the war, and not lose on all fronts, the Horde would have remained loyal.
At the start of the war it was either way. By the time Baine betrayed her the war was pretty much lost.
Who cares? Completing the quest gives a TOTEMIC weapon, after 17 YEARS!

Baine and “badass” have no business being in the same thought, let alone the same sentence. Waste of Steak is what his name should be.
