Canonically, who eats bugs? I know the Forsaken do. And you can, believe it or not, find a quest that may indicate that Elves at least… will… if there’s nothing else.
Orcs? Vulpera? Pandaren?

I dont think pandas would eat bugs. They like good hearty food.
Yeah um… no… well technically yes… just not indigenously. There’s a quest in Duskwood for spider crab cakes… so technically everyone in WoW eats spider as part of the larger Horde/Alliance?

Tarantula leg meat apparently tastes like crab. If you find a big enough spider (no shortage of those in WoW) and love crab, you’d eat well as long as you’re not squeamish or ask too many questions.
I probably, probably, won’t turn away “crab”.
In a fantasy setting where there are bugs big enough, full disclosure I would.
(My secret theory is that Azeroth is actually small and we’re all tiny. But either way.)
The reason I won’t irl is plainly and simply this: It’s too small and it still looks like itself and I don’t care how fine you grind it up, I am gonna find a spiky little leg and puke. If that’s not how it’ll be I’m open to it.
I think in olden days they used to feed crabs to prisoners, because they probably viewed them similarly to insects.

Lobsters were considered prison food, which is a hilarious visual considering their modern price tag.

Just like crabs… Ocean spiders.
The crab filter is just as bad–if not worse than–the Nerubians & other assorted spider creatures.
I actually find some of the Nerubians rather cute… esp. the :::3 ones!
The more humanoid ones creep me out way more, haha…

Anyone/anything will eat a bug if they’re starving. Bugs aren’t the main diet of most species for a reason.
That feeling you get of revulsion at the thought of eating a bug, that’s your instincts kicking in and telling you that’s going to make you sick or kill you.
So don’t eat bugs unless you’re starving. And even then, be really picky.

Trolls too be warned that if there’s no insects around either they wont have much issue cannibalizing you
