Read through this and its not like I don’t have similar sentiments. I am merely choosing layering over CRZ, Sharding, Server Merging, Dynamic Spawning, and various other suggestions people give. In the end even if it isn’t perfect, it is the best choice out of the many evils we could have dealt with for Classic. Asking for multiple servers that function like in Vanilla will only end up leading to server merging. On top of this, the layer solution is only short term. It is guaranteed to end regardless of how many people are on a given server. It can even end earlier than that if the population dips drastically (which I would prefer if it didn’t personally).

it’s not the best solution though.

layering is just problems ontop of all the other bad solutions. if 80% of the pop quits in 2 weeks, they remove layers, then 2 weeks later 80% of what’s left quit because trends don’t just stop because you decide it’s time for them to stop, now we get server merges also.

Hard to server merge with limited servers. If it ever gets to that point, then the game is dead.

Who said it was people I wanted to be friends with? It could be people I absolutely hate. Or opposing faction member I regularly tangle with.

Seeing how you have no experience with the layer system, you don’t know if that is the case. But, as you said, you are waiting for private servers post Classic, so why do you care?

Im with Op, the others will change their mind later when the game launch with server queues and other login errors anyway and then when you make it into the game it’s a mess with people and rares phasing in and out of existence.
