Who plans on stopping after WotLK Classic?

Curious who here has no plans of moving forward to Cataclysm when we get to that point.

Personally, I have no interest in Cata or MoP. I know MoP is a fan favorite for a lot of people but personally WotLK was where WoW hit its peak for me and past that things went down hill in a lot of ways.

This thread isn’t to antagonize anyone who likes Cata, MoP, etc but more so just curious what everyone’s plans are for after WotLK Classic.

It will depend on how they release cataclysm…

Here is way too long post I made with a few thoughts on that.
Hoping for a different post-WOTLK - Classic Cataclysm

Good post, I especially agree about LFR.

One point to note though is the “modern” talent trees didn’t come till MoP. Cata made the trees shorter and switched to giving a point every other level instead (Not a fan of that but it wasn’t as bad as the switch to modern trees)

Thanks for that correction! You are right I remember now it is the MoP pre patch!

I sure hope so.

I’d be more than happy to stick with Wrath classic, however, there are some strong indications that Blizzard will be messing up the Wrath experience, so I may be done once the rest of this shakes out.

If they leave Wrath closer to the way it was then I’d be more than happy to keep playing through that experience. I don’t care about this pushing harder dungeons like SoM or any ilvl squish or removal of RDF for that matter.

Blizzard has the opportunity to keep me playing on the cash cow that is Wrath. It is theirs to mess up and my expectations are such that the outcome strongly points toward them messing it up because for some reason they think they can improve on it while they claim to listen to feedback.

Pass on Cata, come back for MoP.

It depends on the changes they do to Cataclysm. I literary have no intent to play “classic Cataclysm” otherwise. I didn’t enjoy the first time around and definitely dont think i’ll enjoy it a 2nd time. I mean… if i wanted to relive the cata questing experience i can literally just go to Azeroth on retail…

The world revamped literary took any sense of danger out of questing. It made it so you couldn’t even attempt quests that were “too hard” for your current level.

Nah I am getting old to keep going.

I am going to be so sad when WOTLK is done because I quit last time due to Cata. I’ll probably do it again.

I hated what they did to talent trees. This is my last good solid run.

The same as my plans before wrath: continue playing Classic Era.

I enjoyed Cata raiding a lot but im hesitant this time around with Blizzard’s philosophy of just making random changes. Wrath will prob be the stopping point for me if that continues, but for those who don’t really have a issue with that and is ok with sudden changes that may or may not have a big impact, I hope you at least have fun playing.

Done after wrath, I’m getting old.

If it’s Cataclysm I’ll stop.

If it’s new content patched and raids added to WOTLK Classic, I’ll stay.

I don’t ever want to see holy power again, or guardians of the ancient kings or inquisition. If you want to spice things up with classes, do it with tier set and trinkets, but having to relearn classes every xpac starting with Cataclysm and having to stop playing my main characters over and over because I hate how they have changed was not a fun experience post-WOTLK.

I wish we’d have a version of WOW where class design would be permanent.

Because right now I already know I will have to reroll in Cata if they do it and it doesn’t please me at all. I understand some classes are not YET in their best/most fun form too, but I feel when WOW was at its peak is where people enjoyed playing their character the most, can you really go wrong?

Once I finish playing Wrath, whether it’s the end of it or not, I am entirely done with giving Blizzard money for anything.

depends on how I feel after wrath, I wouldn’t mind getting to see the first few tiers of Cata on heroic mode this time around

God yeah, 110% agree here. WotLK, for me personally, felt like peak Ret Paladin design. My memory of Prot is fuzzy and I never really touched holy.

I never liked Holy Power, it’s just watered down combo points in my eyes.

Cata was garbage and don’t plan on ever touching it again.

Especially since you already had classes who used combo points with buffs to keep up like rogues, and people could play them if they enjoyed that.

I mean, some changes were good, like adding an interrupt for instance.

Not saying all classes were at their peak design in WOTLK obviously, but it’s the iteration the most people played and enjoyed.
