Curious who here has no plans of moving forward to Cataclysm when we get to that point.
Personally, I have no interest in Cata or MoP. I know MoP is a fan favorite for a lot of people but personally WotLK was where WoW hit its peak for me and past that things went down hill in a lot of ways.
This thread isn’t to antagonize anyone who likes Cata, MoP, etc but more so just curious what everyone’s plans are for after WotLK Classic.
One point to note though is the “modern” talent trees didn’t come till MoP. Cata made the trees shorter and switched to giving a point every other level instead (Not a fan of that but it wasn’t as bad as the switch to modern trees)
I’d be more than happy to stick with Wrath classic, however, there are some strong indications that Blizzard will be messing up the Wrath experience, so I may be done once the rest of this shakes out.
If they leave Wrath closer to the way it was then I’d be more than happy to keep playing through that experience. I don’t care about this pushing harder dungeons like SoM or any ilvl squish or removal of RDF for that matter.
Blizzard has the opportunity to keep me playing on the cash cow that is Wrath. It is theirs to mess up and my expectations are such that the outcome strongly points toward them messing it up because for some reason they think they can improve on it while they claim to listen to feedback.
It depends on the changes they do to Cataclysm. I literary have no intent to play “classic Cataclysm” otherwise. I didn’t enjoy the first time around and definitely dont think i’ll enjoy it a 2nd time. I mean… if i wanted to relive the cata questing experience i can literally just go to Azeroth on retail…
The world revamped literary took any sense of danger out of questing. It made it so you couldn’t even attempt quests that were “too hard” for your current level.
I enjoyed Cata raiding a lot but im hesitant this time around with Blizzard’s philosophy of just making random changes. Wrath will prob be the stopping point for me if that continues, but for those who don’t really have a issue with that and is ok with sudden changes that may or may not have a big impact, I hope you at least have fun playing.
If it’s new content patched and raids added to WOTLK Classic, I’ll stay.
I don’t ever want to see holy power again, or guardians of the ancient kings or inquisition. If you want to spice things up with classes, do it with tier set and trinkets, but having to relearn classes every xpac starting with Cataclysm and having to stop playing my main characters over and over because I hate how they have changed was not a fun experience post-WOTLK.
I wish we’d have a version of WOW where class design would be permanent.
Because right now I already know I will have to reroll in Cata if they do it and it doesn’t please me at all. I understand some classes are not YET in their best/most fun form too, but I feel when WOW was at its peak is where people enjoyed playing their character the most, can you really go wrong?
