Who is the target audience?

elitists. all they do is cater to elitists and it ruins the game.

Except they don’t. Shadowlands has more world content for casual players than any other expansion except Legion, the problem is, the people sitting around complaining never do any of it. Because they’d rather sit around and complain.

Dragonflight looks to be another Warlords of Draenor, with a 2-year content drought unless you do dungeons/raids/pvp. And nobody’s even noticed because they’re still too busy complaining that the expansion with all the content (Shadowlands) “didn’t have content”.

Wow, even Ion isn’t defending how terrible their world content is, with the exception of Zerith Mortis which for some reason they’re convinced is somehow comparable to Isle of Thunder or someplace actually fun to explore.

(Then again Ion also defended the shipyard back in WoD so YMMV on his take on ZM).

As to DF I’m sure the world content will be as terrible as BFA and SL, but it’ll still be fun for a month or two. Not the content but the general setting and the people coming back
 before leaving again.

I’m the target audience. Just me. When Blizz says they will increase communication they mean just with me. We usually have lunch on Wednesdays and catch up.

I really didn’t want to say that because well, you know.

dont want to say what? That you guys are just lazy and want gear to drop from the sky because you pay $15 to play this game? I dont know what to tell you we all pay $15/month to play this game. You lazy bums are nothing special

A quick look at your Exploration & Quest & Expansion Feature achievements shows that you’ve barely done any Shadowlands world content at all.

It’s really weird how the people saying “there’s not enough content” have always done so much less than me, who’s primarily a raider.

And I’m even way behind. I only just started Ember Court last night. There’s just too much to do, this expansion.

I didn’t say “there’s not enough content.” I said what content there is, is atrocious. I played another toon back in 9.0 and left 3 months into the 8-9 month content drought, skipped 9.1, and barely dipped back in twice for 9.2 and Season 4. Elitists like you tell me if I’m unhappy with the game to stop playing so I did for about 90% of SL. It was money well-saved!

Achievements are account-wide. Just FYI.

Huh? I wasn’t talking about myself, I’m not lazy lol. I’ve gotten KSM, AOTC, and a couple of PVP achievements. I was just saying from what I’ve witness, you don’t need to be an *** about it.

I’m getting that vibe from the replies.

it makes me laugh a bit. no one ever really gives me an answer when i ask for examples on how they cater to us, they never answer :frowning:

You dont need a social contract to get gear in wow retail anymore, gear means nothing in retail its just a gear loop and everybody that plays retails eventually get sick of the loop and quit. At least in classic gear feels better to obtain, there is no personal loot so you have to first get the loot to drop then second roll for it or buy it with gold or hope nobody ninjas it. Personal loot in my opinion is the reason why retail loot just feels awful compared to classic, it removes that extra layer that makes loot more rewarding.

I think retail tar audience is likely young adults just like classics audience. Nothing has changed in that department they just slowly implemented poorly thought out design decisions which landed them up with retail exactly what happened to runescape. Implementing things without thinking possible negatives down the way like the destruction of community and social groups in wow.

I think he’s suggesting that BFA end game experience is not relevant to the SL specific end game systems.

this character didn’t exist until the end of s3. she’s 298.6 equipped and just passed 2.5k io. that’s not anything amazing but i don’t play 12 hours a day or buy carries either.

i guess i would say that this game is aimed at people who want to set goals and achieve them, rather than making excuses for why it’s impossible.

Hard disagree. This game is for nerds of all ages. You get what you put into the game. There are so many people in my guild that have families and Still raid.

Are you nerd enough or not?

Not everybody has the same amount of time to dedicate that’s true. But people need to stop acting like raiding and mythic+ is this huge time sink or that all guilds don’t allow flexing.

They exist. And this only comes from people whom don’t actually do these things

the games kinda moving towards a rebranding “of Warcraft” as the world becomes less relevant and m+ raiding and rated pvp becomes the go-too.

One poster in this thread even based a point on “questing being irrelevant” essentially. Makes me think that some people would prefer the game to be a circular city with 3 corridors running off. First has some portals to some dungeons, second has some portals to some raids and the third has portals to the pvp. And thats it.

of Warcraft.

Blizzard should just make the game unplayable without guild membership which could be purchased with gold monthly.

players should get starter gear and all drops would be available only from dungeons, raids and arena.

its what they really want

yeah, the idea of ‘you get out of the game being proportional to what you put in’ seems to be lost on people here.
