How I would spin it? Yes. The val’kyr have warped the minds of the fallen NElves as a way to gain more intelligence on the enemy and as an act of psychological warfare. Something to make other elves wary and second guess who they’re fighting, making up for the (supposedly) smaller number of the Horde forces.

But I get the feeling that Blizzard did just say “lol they’ve just given up on years of faith in their goddess because one undead is worse than everything the Legion was supposed to do” or something.

I think the flimsy ingame reason was “death has a way of making everything clear,” To suggest theyre free willed.
