This was your mistake. its more difficcult to get a kill on him in LFR than to get a carry for AotC. I was in the same boat, but i got extremely lucky that one of my guild mates was also in another guild, and they wanted him on his healer so they could carry one of theirs to get get AotC. he said he’d come if they would also carry me.
spoiler alert: i warmed the floor every boss. man i’m bad. although on Nzoth it was actually on purpose, as the raid leader asked me to suicide. i had no problem with that. get the achieve for just watching the fight? yes please!
hopefully next xpac, with my new comp, i’ll be able to actually contribute and NOT be bad at DPS or stand in the stupid. but i play frost, so thats not likely, lol.

i got super cheap heroic kill. Did it on lfr, havent bothered with normal.
Im just super dissapointed with visions stuff, so i basically bought aotc and then unsubbed for a while. Came back to do legacy stuff and finish up northrend stuff before it goes to crazy town while waiting for shadowlands
After hearing all the stories about it I just haven’t had the courage to try LFR. And LFR is the only way I’m going to get it done. I don’t have hours to spend at a time hoping to get through it either. Maybe I’ll finally get it done when I can go back and solo it.
I’ve killed him exactly once, like 4 alts ago on a hunter. I still have that stupid quest for him in my log, ooh hoo 93g and an azerite heart, sign me up!
I always get better gear before I ever work of the nerve to try him, and I’m sure not going in there if I don’t need any of the drops. Wanted a weapon from carapace at one point (thanks pvp!), but he might as well be a secret boss because 99% of groups you backfill into n’zoth anyway.
Killed him once on normal with a friend’s guild. Working full-time, guild not raiding, and lack of motivation to pug are kind of why I haven’t bothered with heroic.
I tried doing it in LFR, we 1shot carapace but after like 9 tries on nzoth I gave up and left- ended up just buying a heroic kill for craps and giggles
I’m in the “No Nzoth Kill” Club.
I’m perpetually working a day job and asleep at night, so time is not in my favor. No time to go through 10-12 more cloak quest chains and I’d rather not be shoehorned to DPS or Tank. Not having a guild that does it also does not help, even if I could find one that wraps up by bedtime.
Have not even tried to kill him. Did not care enough about the cloak and hated corruption so much I just don’t care. I’ll come back in next expac or so and clear it all out.
well, just on a whim, i tried it on lfr this morning, got into a group after a few minutes, carapace was already dead and the stack was already 6, my second attempt, he died, so i finally was able to finish the quest.
You might want to try LFR again. Your previous computer might have caused you to be mind controlled more frequently, which would contribute to wipes. LFR is supposed to be easier mechanically, but the hardware requirements are the same as Mythic.
I think the average time if you get in at the beginning of the wing is about 3 hours, so allow for that. My times have been lower recently, but that’s likely because I’ve killed LFR N’Zoth 13 times so I make an experienced lead. We still typically wipe a few times, of course.
On Normal? For my Heroic kill, I only required 35k-40k parses, depending on experience, and we one shot him. 25k should be plenty on Normal, and that’s when you’re alive.
Me. Just can’t be bothered getting raid groups together anymore - feels more like work than anything.
I still enjoy raids, but LFR is such a complete cesspit, it’s not the way I’d like to experience them at all. I wish there were some way to play them with a 5-man group, or something.
Joined a pug to do it on normal on my warrior. Did great along the way, dealt with all the mechanics and was in the top 5 of dps on most fights, then when it came to N’zoth for some reason I couldn’t click on my body to grab it after the first phase went down so I died. The group wiped and I was kicked after because of that. I can’t really be bothered pugging it again.
