Who Else Might Not Play Warthin S1

Usually think S1 is the best time to play because for one everyone is on an equal playing field at least to begin with, the story is usually good and interesting (tends to go off of a cliff in S2 of every expansion), and everything feels new and fresh because I haven’t done it all on 6 or 8 characters a dozen times already.

I feel skipping the first season and patch is a setup for failure like trying to learn to walk before you crawl.
You’re likely to be lost. Especially when talking about a season to a patch of something that doesn’t exist.

Now war within or TWW sure… Still a bad idea. Need to learn the new stuff.

Idk how Time Walking Warthin can exist when Warthin doesn’t exist.

So weird. It’s like we’re not talking about the same game. Are you sure Warthin isn’t the lamest, most pathetic attempt at a shorthand name for a wow expansion ever?

Fitting name for a Retail expansion

It worked in MoP. Skipped all that Panda garbage and went straight into Siege of Orgrimmar, Timeless Isle, and Brawler’s Guild. Best way to enjoy that expansion.

Eh… I played the whole expansion. So would have to disagree. Doing that is why many don’t have the challenge mode sets.

Why is calling it “Warthin” a big deal? Why do people care? Why does it matter? We all know what people are referring to when they say it so why is pretending people aren’t referring to the next expansion so “funny” in this thread?

Because it has “wart” in the word and well we don’t like warts. Now say it like wart hin and sounds like you’re saying wart him.

I’m gonna try my best to be on launch night, I know it’s dumb, but I get a really… Warcraft feeling during that period. Yeah, server crashing included, after that, I don’t know.

:man_shrugging:

I don’t have the CM sets because I hated tank gameplay when you are downscaled into blues.

Even with MoP Classic on the horizon I probably won’t do them even knowing what I know now.

Yeah definitely not playing season 1 of a brand new expansion. I want to miss out on an expansion launch. The best part of the expansion.

Me.

In fact, there is a good chance I won’t be playing Warthin at all.

It depends on the story.

But that’s okay because I have plenty of old content to play in and can continue to pretend the future, after Legion, is unwritten.

Yes it was.

Or maybe I just don’t remember… Been a long long long time.

I just don’t know why you would insist something if you didn’t know.

I remember the scaling on SoO trinkets were borked and many raid trinkets essentially did not work in CMs (leech trinket downscaled to something useless like 0.3%). It just felt bad.

https://www.wowhead.com/news/mists-of-pandaria-challenge-modes-206398#:~:text=Challenge%20Mode%20Overview,complex%20than%20on%20Heroic%20mode.

“ * Challenge Modes are timed heroic instance runs, done in low ilvl gear. Any gear worn above ilvl 463 will be scaled down. This ensures that running these instances will be challenging even in later tiers–you can’t outgear it. In addition, the pulls will be more complex than on Heroic mode.”

I almost always play launch but might skip the season to level up alts idk

I will be playing. I feel like the start of an expansion is the best part!

I am the opposite, first season I am in it doing the things because of all of the new and shiny things. By season 4 I am still playing but I am super lazy and always trying to find the bare minimum way to get gear and progress.

Like heroic track isn’t THAT much worse than mythic track in vault…right?
