I’ve basically quit the first patch of every expansion or at least played it sparingly ever since probably Wrath. I tend to quit the first patch of the Xpac, wait for catchup mechanics, and come in strong for Season/Tier2. I think the only expansion that had me properly hooked from day 1 was Shadowlands due to the covenant abilities making me feel powerful and being super fun. IMO Shadowlands did it bests with the power progression. I felt so weak and bored with S1 in DF so I legit unsubbed and came back late in S2. I hope Warthin is fun from the start and properly keeps me hooked, because I really want to play it from day 1 and stay subbed.

I usually like the 1st couple of patches and after that I start to check out…i just hope that the crafting system is less grindy in Warthin then it currently is in dragon glide

I’m looking forward to TWW. I especially enjoy exploring the new zones and following the storyline. M+ is especially fun early on as you are seeing and learning new dungeons.

I’ve played every expansion beginning to end except WoD and Cata which I both unsubbed about halfway through due to being bored. I doubt I’ll unsub during The War Within, looks like it has enough thus far for me to be content playing every day like always. I’m not as excited for it as I was DF, because dragons > stone dwarves with non stone beards, but still looks good enough for me. 
S1 is usually my favorite season because everyone is starting on an even playing field when they hit max level.

I’ll be too busy playing The War Within season 1 to play whatever this other game you’re talking about is. I don’t have time for more than 1 MMO.

Definitely not playing. LoTRO is expanding east and south of Umbar into the Harad before year’s end and I’ll be there for it.
If The War Within is as good as Dragonflight is I can’t wait for it to get here. I haven’t played through an entire expansion in a long, long time.

Looking forward to TWW. Have friends and family who have subbed for the first time recently because they said it looks good, so excited to have folks besides my wife to play wow with instead of being stuck in classic snoozefest where everyone I know playing wow has been til now.

The other day some one in a discord i am in called it wwi and it made this whole TWW/Warthin debate seem so meaningless. There are some people out there calling it who knows what and it’s time to band together

This always amuses me by the way. People pretending like an even playing field was holding them back and then they get it and end up exactly where they were before.
I asked in guild last night what version of TWW everyone was buying. To my surprise, no one has purchased it yet and if they do, they’re going base edition.
Not sure if this is actually the case or not, but s1 felt like it had the best participation. Crafting orders were plentiful, groups were filling readily, and the server felt populated. The events had a ton of players participating the first few weeks. Black dragonflight rep groups were easy to find. Etc. the problem is there was no reason to go back to doing hunts/community events after the first few weeks and there was no variance to the scripts - they got old pretty fast.
I like the feeling of everyone playing in s1. The world feels lively for the first month.
In DF s2, the caverns felt doa and the forbidden reach just before it felt out of place. Korthia participation in SL fell off a cliff and then into a hole - it was terrible lol. Didn’t play BFA until late last patch, so I don’t know how BFA was really. I quit during legion because the leggos were so poorly handled at release.
I won’t be playing Warthin, whatever that is. I do plan on playing TWW.
