They’ve still got the N7 manifest online and I was looking at mine, 410 hours played. I played a LOT of ME3MP. It was so, so good.
That said, 2’s campaign is really good too. I’ve done around two dozen playthroughs of ME2, while only doing about 7-8 on ME1 and 3 of ME3.
Greed outpaced talent. Anthem cracks me up, they decided how much money they wanted to make before they even made a game, lol.
That said, I think after a hard fall from some industry greats it can turn around again. It’s not like video gaming has become completely corrupted. Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding was really good, it proves there is still creative talent out there and the landscape hasn’t shifted so much that a good game isn’t unprofitable. The big AAA studios just need to get to the point where they’re suffering financially and have exhausted all of the low-effort rehashes before they start pumping new exciting stuff again.
