Because they want you to experience the content before you fly over everything. Pathfinder is a good compromise because it means you’ve reasonably experienced the content first. People are complaining because they want to put in as little effort as possible into everything.

Just how much experience should we have? Flying is long overdue and the only reason is because Ion and the developers are being petty and vindictive.

With 7.2 the broken shore reputation has to be grinded. Mind you it was one zone. BFA 8.2 is two zones and Mechagon is smaller than nazjatar and same size as timeless isle from MoP. I believe we will have two reputations maybe more. Who else knows maybe two stories as well. So more work than Legion Pathfinder I & II combined.

I already uninstalled the game over having to wait this long, but I still have subscription time left. It doesn’t look like they’re going to change their stance on time gating flying so I don’t think I will be buying/playing the new expansion.

There is nothing I hate more than time gating. I can deal with a time gate on one or two pieces of content. But they’re literally putting time gates on everything now. Time gates just make me feel like “play an hour of WoW and then wait around playing something else instead”. And when I go play something else, there’s no time gates, so why would I go back to WoW to play an hour of it when I can keep playing this other game I’m enjoying? Time gating everything just actively encourages people to play something else.

It’s kind of a nice filter on who enjoys the game and those whose addiction is being slowed down to the point of frustration.

I assume you posted this now, so you won’t have to ANNOY us all by posting an “I am quitting and this is why” post later, if the 8.2 release flying rules do not meet YOUR personal expectations and you quit.

I’ve never figured out how 1 customer (out of millions) imagines he is so important that he can set rules for, or make demands from, a billion-dollar corporation.

I wouldn’t care that we couldn’t fly if the world wasn’t layered in obnoxious mobs. “Want me to go see that cool thing you did? Hang on I got dismounted. Alright I killed it but I’m still in combat. Ok nvm this stuff respawned already.”

There are many people who enjoy taking the occasional stroll even through old world stuff to just appreciate it. They make it actually impossible to do this in current content without flying.

Well you’re wrong. With flying I see MORE of the world and I play more. No flying just adds tedium and nothing of value. If you enjoy being on the ground you always have the option…keyword here OPTION to use your ground mount and enjoy the game from the ground.

Instead of improving RNG gearing, classes, etc Blizz focuses on pruning portals and time gating flying.

Also I burned through pathfinder requirements as fast as I could anyway so that’s a non argument right there.
