Personally i think deep affliction is pretty cool. Random BG people just can’t stop dispelling unstable affliction, instant aoe fear is great, stronger dots.
I’m not sure if i should play it in PVE, but i also don’t want to respec all the time, i don’t have gold.
A lot of locks i see are in deep demonology with Felguard. Is he even strong? Pet managing is a bit annoying for me.
Felguard is great for leveling. Likely to put out more dps in a raid setting due to pet AI improvements since old TBC.
Demonology as a spec doesn’t really shine until getting that trinket from TK that adds resistances to your demon. Even then, Destroy will put out more dps.
I don’t find Demo very fun because it doesn’t add any flavour to your spell rotation. Affliction makes dots and drains the centrepiece, Destruction rolls with shadowbolt or incinerate, the Demonology equivalent is an ai pet.
I’m planning on playing Destruction, but quite open to going Affliction for utility based on what the raid needs. Both are fun enough, most caster spell rotations in TBC aren’t very engaging or fun, the fun comes from building and progressing a character.
