Which Realm?

Which realm for Cata / MoP?

Benediction or Pagle? (No preference on pvp vs pve since Bene is 99/1)

Bene says medium pop but seems more crowded in leveling zones / cities vs Pagle even though Pagle shows that it has a higher population.

Thoughts?

assuming you pick alliance either realm should be perfectly fine

Pagle is the better choice. Benediction players are like moderately attractive females in a small town. They’re solid 7’s but think they’re 10’s and act as such

Oddly specific, haha thanks

pretty sure that’s the average classic player. Thinking they’re better than they are.

Well on the topics of realms would Whitemane Alliance be a miserable experience? My server got locked the only option’s to transfer to are Whitemane, Benediction and Faerlina.

Most likely yes it would. It is a heavily horde dominated pvp realm.

Benediction is an Alliance heavy realm, Faerlina is Horde.

The choice really comes down to how many people you think will come back for MoP, If you believe Blizzard would smash Benediction and Faerlina together, and the type of players you want to play with.

If you believe there will be a big pop-off like every expansion ever. Benediction has more potential returning players than Pagle.

If you believe that Blizzard will merge the PvP realms for some profit gaining via transfers disguised as trying to give the players WPvP and don’t care about potentially having to transfer all your characters and/or care about the 2-3 months of WPvP. Benediction is the choice otherwise Pagle.

Do you care about the skills of your fellow players? Wel,l sentiment is that Benediction is more skilled, while Pagle is more chill… and yes that does mean that sentiment has Benediction as more elitist.

they’re not going to put those 2 together. The population difference is too large at the moment. If things change then maybe but faerlina has about 2500 more people on the server. If they find that mop brings back more alliance ( alliance dies more and more with each release just like retail) then I hope they do the lock system like they did with sod.

I could see them merging the PVE servers together as those are closer in population. Though what’s the point even.

Yeah, you can’t take this weeks reported raiding population as an indication of what the realms are at. Not everyone is fast enough to gear out from twilight and hope into Dragon Soul.

Faerlina has roughly 8.6k Horde to Benedictions 7.2k Alliance. This would put that combined realm at a ratio of 55/45. Which are in the acceptable range for faction balance.

Which reflect the total popular NA side. A 55/45 split. Retail isn’t as bad as people making it out to be. Acting as if there are like 10 Horde per 1 Alliance when it really just 2 Horde per 1 Alliance at a 64/36 split. Which is honestly not because people like Horde better, but because for the two expansion Horde races were favored for raiding… which resulted in a cascading affect that leaves what we see today… and honestly what was reflected with mega servers in classic. People don’t care about the faction as much as they care about have the option available for them to be able to play the game at the level they want to play it in.

You will probably find an easier time pugging into pvp groups on Benediction, but don’t be fooled into thinking world pvp will happen.

Back in TBC Bene was the overwhelmingly popular alliance server due to the pvp tag, even though it was 99.9% alliance. It had about 1/3rd more pop than Pagle. Now, however, it’s flipped in popularity.
