Orc Females look the best in mail armor… maybe every armor in my opinion. Mag’har heritage armor looks amazing as a hunter.
But it seems you are mostly looking at alliance, so I’d say male humans. They are kind of unnecessarily beefy in a lot of ways but mail fits them the best.
Bonus race is Earthen and specifically female Earthen. Their added height really does wonders with armor.
But I would look at the dressing room OP. Some races may just not vibe once you see the armor on them. And a lot of the older sets look absolutely disgusting on newer additions such as Kul Tirans.

Night Elf is BiS, go check Murloc IO, the top chosen race for PvP is Night Elf. Why? Shadowmeld. No other racial comes close. And you know what else? Those damn cool flips.
Elves are the epitome of a Ranger, Drizzt was a Dark Elf Ranger. I’m a Dark Ranger Night Elf.
Armor always looks best on female void/blood elved
Orc for BM or SV imo. I just cant seem to get into the dark ranger or sentinel feel as an orc.

If you are stuck on alliance I would go Nelf but that is just me.

Their racial is a monster in PVP, and you can play a hairy muscled stinky guy dressed in furs with a gun.

Well I had asked if he was stuck on having to be Alliance but no response I would have offered orc for their racials. Also troll for their mini bloodlust or Tauren.
Survival has needed the dual wield aesthetic for forever now, going all the way back to the original hunter class in classic, that could and did dual wield when not using their ranged weapon. That they took this away and never gave it back is a travesty.
And it’s also hilarious, that you can actually still dual wield as survival you simply can’t use about 2/3 of your relevant combat actions. I actually did a heroic dungeon for fun back in DF S4 while dual wielding (I snagged a couple of pvp weapons as I had no 1hers) and I had good enough gear to still lead most boss fights (trinks, bombs, etc. lol).
We’ve had Kaldorei Huntress units since at least Warcraft III although they weren’t the same exact motif as the WoW hunter… then again current surv doesn’t fit that either yet Rexxar is a champion hunter. I don’t think it’s safe to pick any particular race any longer.
Humans aren’t bad either. The best hunter I know doesn’t even go hunting according to him… he goes “killin”.
The archers quite fit the MM niche tough
