I’m creating a new main. I’m primarily a PvPer.
I tried Kul’Tiran but didn’t like the way they looked in armor.
I’m between Human and Worgen, although my original character in 2004 was a dwarf hunter, which is cool too.
I know it’s personal choice, but in your opinion, what race seems to fit the hunter vibe and mail armor well?

Dwarf and not cause it’s in the cinematic. They just look like a crazy hermit living in the wilderness. Big beards and always drunk.

Do you feel like there are plenty of fulfilling mail armor transmog sets for dwarves body structure?
also dwarf but i’m pretty sure i do consider them iconic specifically because of the cinematic q:
re: armor, i find that most 3D belts look goofy on a female dwarf but i really like the way most other pieces look. love these tier 1 shoulders, on a lot of other races they look way too big & tall but on a dwarf they’re just right

I really loved the T1 shoulders on my classic dwarf back in the day! Thanks for the reply : )
Armor more tricky with dwarves as most armor designed for Humans. Their body squat and compact, so they’re alot of shoulders that are large and too close. The beard has helped with hide chests, which some have extra fetures that clash. In same note helms also hide beards, abd a dwarves without beards looks cursed.
I’m between dwarf or human now. I tested worgen but the transformations going in and out of combat are still some how not smooth. Dwarf is badass and humans look better in most armor types. Decisions, decisions!
Well 2/3 hero talent trees are elf so…

I feel like my answer might be slightly biased here…
In general:
Beastmaster = Orc
MM = Blood or night elf
Survival = Troll
More specific/niche:
Gun hunters = Dwarf, Goblin, gnome, human, undead, kultiran
A gun hunter with a tinker vibe/theme = Goblin, Gnome, Dwarf.
The one i dislike a lot is worgen. To me is so silly that you are a werewolf and you are shooting people from afar, how lame.
Even survival doesn’t cut for me, cause a lycan with a pet doesn’t vibe well imo

What they need then is to let survival dual wield fist weapons, fight fang and claw alongside your pet. Invoke that dota Lycan feel.

Beast Master
Dwarves (Dwarf with pet in the wilds, hunting, camping. Works for Survival too)
Humans (Traditional human hunter with well trained pet dog)
Marksman
Night elves (Lying in weight, stealth in the forest, sniping from afar)
Goblins (Mechanical sniper rifles from a race that would rather not get their hands dirty…-er)
Survival
Dwarves (See Beast master)
Orcs (using their strength of arms with the same bestial power that their pet wields)

Dwarf for sure. Most armor looks pretty good on them, great racial, great voice.

Blood Elves and Night Elves for me … I played a Night elf hunter for my first ever toon back in the beta for vanilla and several expansions…
However i love my Undead hunter
Funny how humans didn’t had hunters until cata, plus, i see that more a MM since dogs were not rly that fierce of a beast compared to what bms usually get
Trolls make the best Hunters honestly, for MM and Survival. Their animations are amazing, Troll has one of the best shooting with bow animations. The melee animations are great too though!
My Hunter goes for the savage Blood Troll look. You can have one of the blood beast pets too like the bloodticks or the crawgs.

BM - Troll
MM - Blood elf
SV - Orc
I mean, every race has its own hunter culture. I guess it depends. Orc, Tauren, and Trolls have a lot of hunting themed quests, for example. Wc3 horde was very primal
I mean… it’s clearly and obviously Worgen, right? They literally have a unique /sniff emote for hunting down prey.
Blood Elf for MM and it’s not even close.
Go to the dressing room on WoWhead, make a Blood Elf and use the “Hold Bow” animation and you’ll see what I mean, easily the best animations with a bow.
