I know felhunter is best for affliction… but idk about destro
Use the pet for the occasion. Imp buffs, Succubus CC’s, felhunter doesn’t hunt. The dps is nominal in difference.

Imp - Dungeons/Raids
Voidwalker - Solo/Questing
Succubus - PVP/Melee Counter
Felhunter - PVP/Spell Counter
Felguard - Replaces Imp & Voidwalker

Felhunter for the group buff. Imp would likely do more damage if you are putting talent points into the imp skill.
realistically are you rolling with people who are going to care about a pet doing 200dmg an attack or 250? Would nominal DPS changes in the pet over ride the need for massive INT/STA fellhunter buff?
If you rolled demo you wouldnt have this issue., as you would be using tiny head bro
For me, ill stay destro up until raids maybe then go affliction. Its a fun spec, and despite preforming less than affliction numerically, and having worse support than demo, and having to chug mana, I like it.
Really if you are rolling with people who care find new people to roll with. This xpansion is well known and no one is going to be cutting content so close that a lock pet min/max will be required.

If you’re destro looking for the most DPS, you’ll use your imp. The Demonic Power talent makes the imp cast faster, and Empowered Imp makes the imp’s crits have a 33% chance to give you a 100% chance to crit. In raids, you’ll use the imp unless you need the CC from the succubus/felhunter.
