Boosting profs now or after prepatch hits?

Not always the case. Some profs get key changes to some patterns that make leveling cheaper for example the last tbc rod for enchanting gets tons cheaper if you want till prepatch. Thou only one item so small on the overall cost (thou it is quite expensive pre change) when added with other changes can be cheaper to wait.
This is esp the case for any level beyond 350 so stoping at 350 is norm the correct move and doing with wrath stuff.
Norm stuff will get more costly over the prepatch thou up untill about a month or two after launch when people start to farm the old world again and demand settles vs supply. But till than demand will get higher as new toons are made while supply lower as people go into new zones to make money on the new materials.
So a safe bet to buy now but know it’s not always the case but if stuff gets cheaper your likly to lose vary little bit if it gets more costly it will get more costly by a larger amount than the other way norm.

Depending on server, but safe to assume now. Everyone once Wotlk drops will be leveling profs like wild, not counting DK’s and returning players etc.
Now definitely. You are probably a little late though since it’s a week out.
Boost all profession now, if you wait you will pay way more for mats
