I wiped to the UC Elevator boss on numerous occasions. Had to learn the encounter and master patience, as my GOGOGO attitude would cause undesirable repair bills.
Then how about this: Did we have guild banks in vanilla? No? Then no. Thatâs not âhaving to take someoneâs word for itâ, thatâs âremembering when this stuff was addedâ. (Guild banks were added in BC.)
And to answer the question: The first one I remember was glitching through the elevator in Undercity, so it would not surprise me if that happened again.
Iâm playing orc rogue so the first chance of dying to fall damage will be the zeppelin when i go to do some quests in tirisfall for extra 2 levels before i go to barrens. The next chance will be Thunderbluff, and then the lift for 1k Needles.
Iâll probably end up auto running into a UC elevator at some point and getting stuck on the wall and then dropping down and dying when the elevator is on the bottom floor.
Even though youâd be ditched out in the water and would die from fatigue, I always found it funny when it happened to me and is one of the âfondâ memories I have from the early stages of WoW. I was always a bit nervous when boarding the zeppelin between Durator and Tirisfal.
It was the undercity elevator that got me first, was on my Druid and had to go to Silverpine for the shapeshift quest line, and figured Iâd go and check out Undercity, entered the lift at the top, the floor started to descend, but apparently I was still âin the doorâ 2 seconds later the game decided I was no longer âin the doorâ and I fell to my death.
Suffice to say whenever I entered that on my druid any future times I always used my much smaller travel form
Most memorable falling death? Into Unâgoro. Canât remember why I didnât take precaution, but maybe I was just dumb? Itâs not an elevator though, so thatâs another topic kindaâŠ
Thunderbluff and Undercity seem popular, and I canât think of any outside of them. Plenty of places to fall from, but elevators are another story.
Guild bank alts. So. Yes. There was a form of a guild bank. A player work around of that oh so âimportantâ inventory management. Just no log or in game UI.
Its that walk to thousand needles in the⊠mid to early 30âs as alliance man. Iâll probably jump off The Great Lift from barrens into Thousand Needles and attempt to Blink the landing on my mage, and screw it up and die.
Flight points. So. Yes. There was a form of flight. A Blizzard sanctioned creation to help with that oh so âimportantâ traveling. Just not as much control over where you can go.
You got me there, the concept of a âguild bankâ did exist (typically as an alt of the GM or main raid leader, as I recall - gods help you if they were jerks), but to clarify, thatâs not what these clowns are asking for. They want the actual in-the-wall-of-the-bank guild vaults, which were not added until Patch 2.3 in November 2007.
