Which cut feature are you saddest about?

Legendary questlines and other scenarios that WERE in the game that we will never be able to experience again. Seriously, just lock the rewards to 50 like everything else and let me timewalk back to a point that stuff is accessible. Particularly anything to do with Wrathion in Pandaria past a certain point, but also anything lore-relevant that I’d prefer to walk a new player through in person such as the Burning of Teldrassil and the lead up to it.

I think its also valid for me to be upset about content that just isn’t in the game at all that provides lore relevant context. Novels are great, but not having certain scenes take place in-game just leaves us with a hard to follow plot thread.

Actual cut content? . . . I miss my rogue being able to jump from any distance and not take fall damage lmao. I loved making super hero entrances.

Based on the dungeon design, that would have been such a cool zone. Would have been cool like Blackreach in Skyrim.

./spit
Really annoyed at how they removed this, I used to ./spit at teams that refused to give up in 3’s when killing one of their teammates :stuck_out_tongue:

Pretty much, all of WoD we were supposed to get.

Aerial combat in Wrath. (It was on the box for crying out loud!) That was also when we were supposed to get the dance studio. As good as Wrath was, it could have had a stranglehold on #1 expac if both of those made it through.

Only one I can think of really. And, the Garrisons were supposed to be “moveable”, as in like…can set them where ever you wanted, in Draenor or something like that. I’d totally move my Horde Garrisons out of Frostwall and in Lunarfall, if I had the choice. Sadly, I can’t play my Horde characters via my Nightborne, Vulpera, Belves, etc. 'cause I hate their Garrison location :sob:

I just miss my spells looking cool, some changes and some outright removed.

Old Shadowbolt, Chaos Bolt, Harvest Life talent, Incinerate, Fel Flame, Malefic Grasp, etcetera.

Most centers around WoD. More customizable Garrisons (which eventually could have become player housing), the Ogre continent, Farahlon, the Shattrath raid (and Yrel’s story fleshed out), the story actually being finished and not rushed so WoD had a good ending and not :

The scrapped “The Plight of the Worgen” questline was weird. They randomly decided at one point that the Worgen were going to suffer from some illness that makes them feral and that the reagents for the cure would happen to only be available from AU Draenor.

It’s also a rare instance of Blizzard remembering who Krennan Aranas is and having Tess Greymane caring about her father and likely vice versa. Regarding Tess Greymane, to this day it still isn’t clear why she’s randomly a leader of the Uncrowned. I’m guessing that was part of another scrapped story idea.

Alpha versions of the Zangar Sea appeared to have more above water areas than in the final version. Twin Spires and Telredor were supposed to appear but were scrapped during development.

AU Tanaan Jungle also lacked the Temple of Telhamat for whatever reason, as well as the Pools of Aggonar, though it’s possible both were destroyed by the Iron Horde/Burning Legion since they were in close proximity to AU Hellfire Citadel and Ironhold Harbor.

The Garrison. It wasn’t even halfway completed when it launched.

Now “guild halls” might become a reality, probably not even half-assed too.

Thats what annoyed me the most about WoD. It had the potential to be really great and a lot of stuff got scrapped. I still wanted the Farahlon zone and class accessories (supposedly artifact weapons took its place). Could have sworn there was going to be more arakkoan content too in spires of Arak.

There was going to be a raising mount quest too, unfortunately those mounts became shop mounts instead (enchanted fey drake and Rylak)

I really want them to bring back the class accessory cosmetics. It can be something that can be added upon over many expansions imo.

What could’ve been one of the best expansions is widely regarded as one of the worst… all because of how much content was cut.

It’s a pity, because WoD has some of my favorite zones, dungeons, characters, and had some of the best pvp.

I’m saddest about the removed /flirt and /silly lines.

Each one of them was like a death in the family when they got deleted.

Oof, damn. Yeah, WoD remains the pinnacle of “lost potential” for WoW thus far. They tied it to the movie release, and when that basically bombed, they ran screaming from it as quickly as possible. Being able to put our Garrison in different zones, Karabor, HAVING ANOTHER RAID TIER, etc was all seriously annoying.

Still also annoyed during MoP the entire and forgotten Trials of the High King thing they were trying to push with Varian that seemed to get immediately scrapped.

The Alliance garrison was nice at least. The Horde one… uhh… had potential.

Bladespire seemed like it would have been a cool hub, was always baffling when you did a couple of quests to unlock this massive spot, and then never go back there again.

Bladespire had a ton of problems, though. I documented many of them in WoD alpha testing.

The main problem was that it had nothing to do with the Horde. Alliance was gonna get black temple, and Horde got… a mound of ogre rubble? Seriously?

But beyond the lack of appropriate thematics, bladespire had roofs that prevented Tauren from entering some areas, it had holes in the center that had you fall through into a fire pit and die, the nearest Graveyard was a 2 minute run from the base (I timed it…), it was a pain in the neck to enter/exit, it took FOREVER to go from the bottom floor to the top floor to access things like the bank, the whole thing was indoors so you couldn’t mount… it would have needed a ton of work to save. And for what? So we could squat in a mound of ogre rubble?

Instead we got Warspear, which is so far the ONLY Horde-themed base we’ve ever had in the game. Sounds good to me.

Big WC2 Horde vibes though.

Archeology for me.

I actually enjoyed it so much, even the frustration of not getting what I wanted right away.

The planned, huge customizations for the Garrison…

It could’ve been something else as a temporary housing thing, but because it barely could do anything in terms of customizing, it was too utility and replaced capitol cities.
