Which class/spec has the easiest/slowest rotation?

I’m dealing with a hand injury that’s really screwing with my gaming. I want to play some WOW, mainly solo PVE with the possibility of some LFR. I want to do straight DPS.

Which class and spec has a good combination of an easy rotation that is also relatively slow? The less spammy, the better.

Thanks!

Ret Pally is 4 buttons, that’s my default “easy class” answer. You could also try DH and talent into the auto attack talent, where your filler is just nonexistent.

Rogue, just not Outlaw. Or possibly DK.

Ret doesn’t have many buttons but you generally have to keep hitting them quick so probably not the best for hand issues. DH can be similar, it’s a fast paced spec that has a lot of button presses.

Perhaps you want a tank spec if you mainly do solo content.
If you don’t die easily you can take longer to click the buttons.

Right. I say something like Affliction Lock or Assass Rogue then, where you just dot up?

Sin rogue and arms war are the lowest APM (actions per minute) around 40 or so.

Highest are outlaw and havoc above 60.

Havoc Demon Hunter.

You can fit their entire rotation and cooldown into 5 buttons.

…and still be top dps.

This is actually the worst suggestion for OP. Complexity doesn’t equal actions per minute.

Sin rogue or arms war is the answer.

Yeah absolutely. Slower based more management based specs where you aren’t trying to hit buttons as they come up.

What Vulpirate said. When it comes to things like hand issues you don’t want to be making many actions regardless of them being the same few or not.

You want a steady style of gameplay that focuses around fewer button presses and more management.

Interesting insight, thank you.

If you can’t get a clear answer here OP, make some 110 class trials of a couple of classes you’d be interested in, then whichever one feels the nicest to you can you make as a level one and just level it up (or 20 if you wanna roll an AR)

Get a Logitech G600 (or other similar mouse) and bind everything to the buttons on the side, then all you’ll have to do is move your thumb. Filler as mousewheel and mod keys for more abilities. The G600 actually has a mod key on it where your right ring finger will likely rest but it’s not something I’m used to hitting so I don’t use it.

All specs are easy in this expansion, class design is at it’s worst. You can literally play any class and smash buttons and still do decent dps.

How about BM Hunter? Spec away from power synergies and spec into pet support. Look up some mouseover pet attack macros.

Really what might be the key is rearranging your action bars so you don’t have to move your mouse much to hit the important stuff. You could set your movement options to click-to-move and, though clumsily, do it all by mouse.

My unholy dk has a pretty slow rotation. Once you burn through your runes, you have sit and wait for them to come off cd.

Pretty much every class will have the same ‘speed’ for rotation, since you’ll be using an ability every global cooldown. There’s not really anything slower than that without losing effectiveness in varying degrees.

Classes that are not heavily focused on haste would be slightly slower, due to longer global cooldown delays between abilities, but it isnt going to be a huge difference.

Honestly, I would recommend sticking with the hunter. Go beast mastery, get yourself a pair of ferocity pets. You can sparingly use your own attacks while simply making sure you use kill command and bestial wrath on cooldown. For aoe, you just hit multishot every 3-4 seconds to keep beast cleave active, and serrated shot on cooldown with pet stomp.

You wont pull off top DPS doing that, but it’s a very leisurely solo playstyle. I jump on my hunter whenever my hands are hurting (I have pretty bad arthritis/carpal tunnel from my job, and some days it really hurts to play any games at all).

I recommend a foot pedal setup to take some of the pressure off your hand actions.

With an injury like that, I suspect choosing a ranged class would we be wise, given the reduced need to move & stick close to a target. As to which is best for you, I cannot say.

Prot Pally is good for general PvE in that regard. Few attacks, a couple of “uh oh” buttons in case you underestimated the mob, and that’s it.

If you’re not tanking, it’s really boring combat, that doesn’t take a whole lot of thought.
