Which class/spec has the easiest/slowest rotation?

My havoc DH rotation

Mouse wheel up - Resource generation
Mouse wheel down - Spend resource
1-2 for everything else, once in a while press 3 key

Only BM hunter can compete with how few buttons to press, but not quite as good as havoc DH

Look no further than Arcane Mage my horned bovine humanoid friend… Spam 1 button for awhile, press another, and then press 1 more when you see a proc.

The epitome of brain dead rotation…

As a more serious answer, yes, if you talent away your abilities for single target and pvp the Felblade-Demon blade havoc build tends to be around even with the Demonic Immolation aura build.

The former felblade blade will be pretty good at high mobility but is kinda boring imo since there’s a lot of gcd downtime like a old rogue or energy class waiting for it’s cds. It’s good for pvp and st and the felblade with a 15 yard mini charge might also help migrate things. For optimal dps some sims do things like fel rush triangulation so they can zip and hit the boss and use every gcd, but it might not always be worth it if you lose a gcd.

Aside from that, ranged classes are pretty easy to turret in, also it might be worth looking into something like a mmo 10-20 button gaming mouse where you can keybind 20 abilities to your right thumb. I’ve heard many people with wrist strain say that it’s been great for them.

OFC to do mythic dungeons you’ll need to have a aoe build with blind fury and Immolation aura instead for dungeons, and a demonic /immolation build for st and add fights is pretty versatile and about dead on with the felblade build on most other fights with them both shining half and half. (Felblade shines on behemoth for mobility, while demonic immo is pretty versatile and quick to switch back to blind fury immo, but there’s always a gcd with demon blades.) However if you literally go the felblade demon blade proc and get double glaives but ignore fel rush, you could literally be like press felblade, cast chaos strike, eye beam every time it comes up, wait for procs, use felrush to reach boss, pop meta and azerite talents on burst phases or opener, etc.

Pet classes give a lot of room to slow down and not die. Very forgiving if hand needs a break. As an example, I kept my affliction dots on a sequence macro and literally roll my mouse wheel(I find wheel rolling easier than pressing down) to get my dots up while pet tanks. I’m sure other classes could have similar consolidation to ease stress on hand.

This is a really good idea assuming the injury does not involve your mouse hand. Very little movement is needed by the thumb to cover the abilities of most classes rotations.

Not quite true, there are a lot of classes that simply don’t have resources to spend every GCD, other can have casts that last longer than the GCD also reducing the number of buttons they press.
APM per spec can actually vary quite greatly.

This is also a good point though, simply not building high haste of some specs can make them a lot slower as they generate resources or come off cooldown quicker with haste.

Focusing on other stats (albeit affecting potential) will make any class rotation less exhausting on an injured hand.

Dh has high apm. That is the opposite of what he wants.

Spec for demons bite - or w.e the talent is that lets you no longer have a filler ability - and then you’re all set to have the least APM.

And my god I hate that these exist. Staring blankly at the screen waiting for resources to pool back up is the -worst- feeling.

Dh is by far the easiest atm, ret is probably the slowest. If you want to automatically have nigh survivavility while pressing 2 buttons DH is your choice.

Nope. Still huge apm thanks to haste.

I mean if the guy doesn’t have a dh yet - which I assume is the case since he’s asking what character he should play - I think he will be quite a ways off until he hits a haste amount that makes the high APM. My fresh 120 DH has basically no haste and the APM is pretty low.

If you want something easy, you wont be getting something slow, and vice versa. Arcane mage is probably the closest thing to both since the rotation is basically 2 buttons and the occasional Evocation, and it is a caster so it isnt spamming the GCD. But if you want something slow, try playing assassination or subtlety rogue, marksman hunter, windwalker monk, arms warrior, or frost dk. These specs have the lowest average actions per minute.

But if you want something that is “easy” or “simple”, I would say havoc demon hunter, beast master hunter, shadow priest, or fury warrior.

I’d take Spriest out of that, simply because multidotting is a mess sometimes.

OP asks for slow rotation.
People suggest havoc dh.

Dear god this forum.

OP, I sympathize. I’m at the age that I can’t play, for example, Diablo anymore, because of the high number of actions required. It hurts my hand to play for more than half an hour.

For a low action spec, I’d go with Elemental Shaman. Long cast times, fewer key clicks.

bm also needs to maintain frenzy stacks. that’s more advanced than most other classes believe it or not.
