Curious what class levels the fastest? I’m gonna be on the fresh server so I want to get to 70+ as fast as possible.
From what I can tell the options seem to be:
-Warlock to level through questing
-Leveling a tank or healer through dungeons
Are there other options that are faster, or which of these would you recommend? I’m leaning towards leveling a healer or a tank to be useful (but a bit scared to tank because I dont know the dungeons well anymore).
Edit: I guess to rephrase my question, is it better to roll a tank and level through dungeons, to level a healer and level through dungeons, or to roll a pet class and quest?
Hunters are definitely great but thats what I leveled in Wrath originally so I wanted to mix things up haha
Is Paladin or Druid more desired for tanks? And do you think people are understanding of tank noobs? I obviously remember the fundamentals of tanking on both classes but like I don’t remember boss mechanics
Here are the current stats that I have for Skyfury alliance.
I think people are just happy with any tank. However if you want to raid… people are looking for holy paladins. Haven’t seen many ads for rets/ferals/restos. Have seen a few for balance druids.
But you can do prot paladin and then have an offspec of holy for raiding. I didn’t roll a paladin because they’re so many, but I imagine most are ret lol.
I was a hunter too and I’m playing shaman now, the other is undecided. I don’t think any class really trails far behind in leveling speed by wotlk, mana is almost a non issue and unless you’re trying to do some gimmick strategy you wont find many ways to shave hours off of an efficient questing route
That’s how I went too lol. Played Hunter for Wrath and Cata, then switched to Shaman in MoP and still playing Shaman in retail today. Forcing myself to switch it up but its hard to not run back to the arms of Shaman

That’s what I remember too, like Paladin and Warrior and DK were all easy to keep mobs together but I remember on my feral tank specifically, when a mob ran to the healer or something, it was more annoying to bring the mob back to the group. But maybe I was just bad at it lol
Both pally and druid are excellent choices. Druids level faster cuz you can use feral DPS spec to tank, and pallys Righteous Fury + consecrate make holding threat a piece of cake !
Feral was super easy for me, and you have the benefit of choosing any of the 4 group roles in the game.
Feral tank is middle of the pack and by far the easiest tank, boomkin is a solid ranged dps, cat is a solid melee dps, and resto is a very easy healer. Druid works well as a support class to any alts that you make in the future, especially if you have a second account for dungeon runs etc.
One added benefit is when leveling on a PvP server, cat form is extremely good 1v1 against other players. Most people don’t bother instigating a fight because they know the bleeds will kill them even if they get you down first.
The buffs they got from prepatch make them basically a aoe class.
You also get a basically free mount at 20 and talents at 20 give you 15% movement speed.
Theres paladins and then theres everything else for leveling for wotlk.
The current world record 1-55 is ret pally into dk to 70.
They are however way too easy to play for the outcome you get and are the most popular class by far.
