To be honest, i am not surprised.
With what a sheet-storm Hunter looks to be in DF (According to alpha so far at least) I am not surprised they didnt give a fudge or two minutes to give us a decent upgrade to the bow and how we get it. Blizzard just prefers to ignore Hunters, I almost feel like a feral at this point…
i just dont get it. if its supposed to act like season 2 we should just kill her and get the upgrade item to increase its item level since we have the bow already

It does work that way.
If you kill her, you can loot an upgrade that will increase bow same as in s2.
The system works exactly same as all other “weapons” :
- You can loot it off the boss (if you have bow, you loot the upgrade item that works on the old one, if you don’t have bow you just loot it directly)
- If you don’t loot it during fated you can use tokens to turn old bow fated + use ilvl upgrade on it.
it did not i killed her on normal last night did not get the upgrade token
It’s not a 100% drop chance, same as it was not 100% drop chance in S2.
It’s basically an RNG drop same as any other weapon/gear.

yeah we know that. that is supposed to be for people who never owned the bow. people who own the bow are just supposed to get it upgraded

Even in season 2, if you had a bow, the upgrade was not guaranteed.
Same as it is now, if you have the bow, you CAN loot an upgrade item to boost your s2 bow to s4 ilvl. If you do not loot this item (same as say rogues who need her dagger) you can buy a vendor item (using dinar from killing 30 bosses) to boost it to 285 and being able to use your 20 mythic/heroic boss kill tokens on it to upgrade it.

false they even released a blue post on it back when season 2 first started everyone who got the bow on normal got an item in the mail after defeating her on heroic because they were supposed to get it when they looted her on heroic so this is no different
You are confused and not remembering things correctly.

The issue was that if you killed her on heroic, initially you still looted bow at 233 item level, not 246. As such, blizzard mailed the upgrade token to people who looted it on heroic, but at the normal ilevel.
But the upgrade token normally was never guaranteed, so if say you looted the bow on heroic, and then killed her on mythic, you were not guaranteed an upgrade item.

from how i saw it with as many times as i seen it happen it was a guaranteed drop if you had the 233 bow and defeated her on heroic you got the token every time. i killed her on heroic 1st try and got it. all the hunters who had the 233 version got the token every kill i saw.

I can find you a lot of hunters with multiple M Sylv kills w/o mythic upgrade.
Same with ppl who had normal bow, killed it a few times and never got it on heroic.
For all intended purposes it’s same loot drop chance as the other gear, and with the recent S4 chance it got it’s drop chance boosted similar to rogue dagger from her.
Wait the bow drop rate increased??? I am excited to hear this, mainly because I do not have it and REALLY want it at this point mainly for xmog but to see if I could actually use the bow since it’s a “Fated” item now. Unless the bow ilvl is still the same depending on which level of the raid you are running. I’m sorry if I sound dumb I just gave up on getting the bow because it NEVER dropped for me so I was tired of trying.
It’s increased on fated difficulty.
I would assume it is the same as it was when it’s not fated.

if they want us to burn the vendor token so be it heroic bow next week then. but a random screen shot from a random discord is not any kind of example because you can make fake discord messages. The Main issue is there have been no clear cut explanations to this bow outside its at the vendor and goodluck

It functions exactly as you’d expect, and same as all other weapons.
If you loot it during fated week you keep it :
- If you never had the bow before, you instantly loot the bow at the fated ilvl.
- If you had the bow before, you loot the upgrade token, same as in s2 and boost your existing bow to fated ilvl.
If you didn’t loot it during fated week :
- You can use your dinar to buy the upgrade token getting it to 285 (same as every other weapon/trinket on the vendor)
- After that, you can choose to use your Mythic/Heroic upgrade token to boost it’s level further (same as every other weapon/trinket on the vendor)
The only difference between sylvanas bow and every other weapon that you can buy, is that if you never looted it previously, you can not buy it with dinar, which is unfortunate, but I guess they didn’t want you to be able to simply buy a legendary. This is partially offset by you being able to farm it during non fated weeks, and it having an increased drop chance during the fated one.
For all indended purposes this works exactly the same as all other weapons, and the hunters are not losing anything.

If you see a screenshot of someone with M/H kills and normal ilvl bow, would you believe ?

i mean you can look me up on raider io i dont hide behind a level 25 character. or look up my logs go for it. im not hiding behind a lvl 25 paladin. ive got 22 kills on heroic and 12 on normal. killed up to soul render on mythic. i may not be a ce person but i try and wont hide what i have accomplished either
This 100% should be a thing. Get Real Blizzard requiring us to get that lucky twice on one shot once out of every 3 weeks.!!!

Why do you need to get lucky twice ? And how is it different from say rogues trying to loot Sylv dagger ?
And how does that prove you right ?
If a hunter with mythic kill and heroic kill didn’t loot it, does it mean that you are wrong and it was never 100% ?

if you killed the boss why would you not loot the boss. that makes no sense at all.
