We were told that it’d be introduced in another way (since the orginal way is through LFD) and obtaining it would still be associated with dungeons (presumably it’d be recorded through dungeon dailies) but we’ve yet to see any word about the companion. Can we please get some word about this companion, while it is a small thing the fact that nothing’s been said about it since LFD has been confirmed to not be in the game is concerning.
I fear for the little guy.

I was actually just wondering about this the other day. Though I think the most likely (and perhaps obvious) answer is that Blizzard’s offices have been stretched way too thinly for Dragonflight’s launch and then went into utter chaos when Brian Birmingham left.
I have a feeling that we might not see a lot of this stuff ironed out until Microsoft’s acquisition is finalized…

I don’t know if you’re needlessly hating on retail or if you genuinely didn’t know that it’s from WotLK… I’m guessing the former and not the latter.
It’s really simple really, the game already records the number of dailies we do, if they simply make it an achievement linked to dungeon dailies (pretty much how it was/is for retail). Like complete 50 dungeon dailies or something, I don’t think it’d be that hard to do
I recall the announcement for him leaving was pretty much when Ulduar came out, there was still no word regarding the companion other than his inital promise of it eventually being added.
Perky pug didnt come out until ICC patch when they introduced that achievement for pugging dungeons. I would think thats when it will come out this time around attached to the new and improved dungeon finder everyone loves.
