Where to start as a new classic player?

Playing retail right now but don’t see staying with it much longer.

I have played tons of classic but not since season of mastery and I have a level 40ish druid on a server there.

If I want to jump into Classic, should I do WoTLK, or is just plain Classic still a thing at this point? If so are there any servers I should be looking at?

I personally hated WRATH both when it was new and now, SO, I recommend Classic Eras BUT it is extremely Low Pop, though the West Coast PvP cluster (Whitemane et al.) seem relatively healthy.

Classic Era Server

Since I am not interested in playing Classic Wrath, I thought I would reroll on the Vanilla era pve server. I installed the CensusPlus mod so I could get a good idea of how many people are on it. It looks like there is a 2:1 Alliance:Horde ratio with about 2000ish alliance toons and about 1000ish horde toons. This looks like a progressed server, so maybe 30% of all toons are level 60, which means the leveling process looks mostly solo, but there is raiding at 60. WoW is designed to allow solo l…

I made a couple posts in the above linked thread on this exact topic. I would encourage you to have a look through it but some of the big takeaways are:

• Classic Era realms are now connected based on timezone/server type, commonly referred to as ‘clusters’

• The NA PvE East cluster realm of Mankrik receives free PvE transfers

• The NA PvP West cluster realm of Whitemane receives free PvP transfers

• All NA Classic Era clusters are in the same battlegroup, hence queues for instanced PvP Battlegrounds are the same no matter where you play

I myself play on one of the smaller PvP clusters in the East. We’re still mostly leveling but have recently broke into UBRS for the start of our ‘raiding’ progression. If you have any questions, ask away!

Thanks much, I logged in and saw all the realms were low pop and downloaded Wrath. Didn’t realize they had combined server tech. That is great to know.

Classic Era Server Realm Grobbulus RPPvP Alliance
GREETINGS! have a Blast on the nostalgic Classic Era. As some of you may know our guild is the main active guild on this server with about 50 active raiders on the Alliance. I wanted to reach out to the community and recruit anyone interested in joining the fun.
