Pugs are not guilds. So your standards don’t matter in pug play.
If you want better standards build a social network.

If you want better standards build a social network.
If you’re learning to cook, and you only make box mac and cheese for months on end, are really learning anything?
If you want to improve, you eventually need to move on from box mac and cheese.
Never works, and never will.
LFD set the standard : people want fast runs, people detest slow tanks.
If you don’t like that environment and aren’t ready to push hard on W, don’t go into LFD.
Yes, because you learn how to make the best mac and cheese you can.
If you want to change it up, you add things to see what works.
Again where should a new tank learn?
Has worked for humanity for the last hundreds of thousands of years.
Humans evolve and progress through adversity. Periods of hardship are often periods of massive progress.
That standard does not matter in a pug settings.
A pug will never be a guild.
It is THE pug standard.
Don’t go in expecting a slow run in a pug. No one pugs for the scenery.
No it really has not. It has caused more damage than anything else.
We have advanced over the years with how we teach, and learn that people don’t learn the same way.
Trial by fire is “living” in the past that someone said I did.
It’s not where to learn, it’s learning the right way to play.
Read your abilities, find a guide or two, and just learn by doing. Literally just tank a group or two. If people flame you literally instantly mute them.
Why are we so afraid of failing or struggling even a little bit?
Learn by doing if the DPS just run all over you?
Great advice to keep any new tank out of the role
People are social snowflakes that is why
WoW is a game with 0 consequences for death.
So right there, you’re wrong.
We used to literally beat kids who didn’t write right handed.
I think we did advance actually.
You just punking now ?
i’m not a tank. but i’ve played healers and i can tell ya… nothin’s more annoying than a tank that won’t slow-down long enough for me to heal them.
now, how is that relevant? cause i did’nt understand why tanks would want to rush, but now i see they’re rushing because certain dps players want to go-go-go so much the tanks are being forced to rush.
let the tanks pull at their pace. don’t force them to go fast please, your just making the dungeon un-fun. (and yes, i get that mythic+ you gotta go fast, but i’m not talking about m+, i’m talking normal/heroic dungeons.).
In a pug, you get what you get. “standards” don’t really matter. I’m sure you can get some groups to kick so and so players. Like I said, a Pug is not a guild, so any standards you want it to be. Does not matter at the end of the day. That is what a pug is.
You should practice with reality.
DPS are ALWAYS going to pull things, whether they mean to or not.
You, as a tank, should expect that and learn to deal with it when it inevitably arises.
Melt them. Then they’ll be water and flow.
AKA : speed runs. Stop being a slow tank.
Nah all it takes is one person not wanting to speed run, and that is it. That is the nature of pugs.
Tank decides if it is speed run or not.
1 person doesn’t decide for 4.
Not how it works sugar.
Tank doesn’t. That’s just inflated ego talking.
This isn’t new. Don’t be a jack wagon and let tanks pull or you volunteer for it
