Where is the horde (spoilers)

No we need to make a giant horde symbol out of metal and frame it infront of the light so it casts The Horde Signal when Commissioner Faerin needs our help with villains and miscreants!

I mostly agree with you if I had any faith in blizz writing to give us that horde moment in the future. I don’t. Would also be nice if the side quests had at least a couple of horde characters being cool, instead of just being amusing prisoners sneaking away or something. The story telling has been great and the horde side quests we do get are good if looked at in a vacuum. The super anemic horde roster makes me starved for horde development though. I don’t know how they would give us any horde focus in the future if we have zero developed characters on a power lvl to be relevant.

Or we could all just be absorbed into the Zandalari empire under Talanji. Then when the Alliance characters try to complain about the Horde we can be like woah… that aint us. We are the Zandalari Empire. We don’t know about any tree burning.

They have a few characters they could use if they just put even the smallest effort in. Talanji, Zekhan, Voss, Gazlowe, and Gey’arah are all super intriguing characters, it’s just that Blizz seems to forget about them the moment they leave the screen. Toss those characters into a meaningful situation and they would thrive with interesting possibilities. Unfortunately we are stuck with Baine and Thrall for any serious story moments. Baine needs to be deleted, give him the Gallywix treatment. And while I don’t necessarily hate Thrall, his story was done a long time ago.

Point is in the entire leveling experience horde characters are not present. Mean while there are quite a few alliance characters, it is not just the characters even the zone are very alliance centric. From drawfs, to light worshiping humans, where are the horde counter parts?

Sure they might have horde characters in past max level content, but that doesn’t excuse them missing from the leveling experience. Even the post leveling quest it isn’t only horde alliance is there as much it more like 50-50. Even then where is the resolution for thrall and his element issues. Why isn’t even brought up a single time…

As a horde player this just feel as blizzard purposely excluded the horde from yet another expansion and this isn’t a one time thing. We had this since legion.

I think they dropped that plot. Thrall being a teacher/guide in the campaign gives me that vibes.

I’m glad they moved on from elemental dysfunction as long as Thrall gets to actually star and not be set dressing for an Alliance-Only Campaign in yet another in a long almost decade long line of Alliance-Only expansions.

Depends on your definition of “leveling content”, because for me, the main quest was leveling content. I did the story first, so I saw Gazlowe halfway to 80. It’s true that Thrall shows up later post-80, but he actually does stuff unlike Jaina, his counterpart. Not that I even want more Jaina content after being inundated, but my point is that Thrall is taking action in the story to help the Earthen along with us.

It should also be noted that the Arathi are not Alliance. They’re descended from the kingdom of Arathor, but also the kingdom of Silvermoon. There are more human models used because there were simply more humans than elves during the Troll Wars. That doesn’t make them Alliance.

We’ve also yet to see the Harranir do much in the story so far, and we know that they will have a bigger role to play. Will their ‘savage’ aesthetic count as Horde content? Since Arathi feels like Alliance.

This is really the issue. Its fine if one side gets more focus than the other here and there. Trying to mirror the factions exactly is how you get Vol’jin randomly dying just because Varian did.

But half of DF was a loveletter to the nelves, SL had the Horde reps being token background characters, BFA was a travesty for everyone, and Legion didn’t really have much Horde rep except retroactively with Suramar, and even then, 2 nelf zones and a draenei zone.

Technically not true as Gazlowe does show up in the spider zone. There was also Meerah

And technically correct is the best form of correct.

inb4 someone sarcastically says “oh wow, only 2 characters”

Oh wow, only 2 characters

I will say the post leveling campaign has featured Horde characters well.

You’ve Thrall helping to rally the Earthern Stormriders and then Lilian Voss leads an infiltration of the City of Threads.

It’s certainly a start.

Sure he shows up, compare to how many alliance characters? There should be some level of parity

that would be great, but I do not see him using the elements to fight or anything either.

I like that Lilian is given a line that makes sense with her being undead at the end of that chapter. Not just Horde representation rather than Alliance, but specifically Forsaken.

I noticed a fun detail with Thrall. Immediately after the storm rook quest, there’s a “stay awhile” available from one of the Earthen. If you listen to it, Thrall will walk away from them for the duration of the conversation, and will gradually wander through the crowd, visiting with each of the rook and rider teams for a few moments, before he eventually returns to where he started. I really liked that touch.

Anduin, Alleria, Jaina.

Thrall, Gazlowe, Lillian.

Forgot about Moira, dagran and muradin

Edit: Totally meant Magni. Brann is the one who joins us on Delves atm

That’s true. I didn’t really pay attention to much of the dwarf stuff. Also I think you mean Magni, unless Muradin shows up somewhere.
