Maybe time runs at different speed?
I want new stories, enough of the last 15 years of the same characters.
Uther heavily implies that Arthas is in the Maw. Apparently he was originally supposed to go somewhere else (Revendreth probably), but Uther decided he should go to the Maw and that’s how/why he became a foresworn. He said that the leader of the Foresworn made sure Arthas got the justice he deserved.
Time in the Shadowlands move differently. We don’t know if it’s slower, faster or just chaotic but it’s not the same as in the living reality. When we get back to Azeroth it could be six months later or 100 years later or a week later. No way to tell. When you’re dead, time isn’t actually a relevant concern.
Nathanos makes a cameo in a play that is put on in Ardeanweld. Thats his big return so far, lol loser.
Nathanos
<Lord of the Simps>
Spoiler alert:
Go Night Fae. Tyrande is quite terrifying.
It’s the third week people. Can we seriously just slow down and enjoy the game? I’m having a hard enough time doing dailies, calling, table mission, maw and torghast runs on my main. Now I have m+, raid and pvp to get done (gotta get that sweet epic plate pvp set). That’s just on my main, I’m getting overwhelmed with keeping up on alts. And you want me to worry about where Nathanos, Arthas and Ner’zhul are? If you find them, send them my way, I’ll put their lazy butts to work.
I don’t understand how the Manastorms are in Shadowlands. If they died, I also don’t understand how they aren’t in the Maw or somewhere else. The last I remember seeing them is in Violet Hold, alive.
Atonement for the Developers who made Azshara and N’zoth a single patch affair would be if we came back and the Void and Light were ripping into Azeroth equally, N’zoth is alive and Azshara’s flooded massive tracts of the world.
Arthas is in Torghast somewhere, being tortured for all eternity like everyone else who is in Torghast. He’ll probably show up eventually, but for now what does it matter? Blizzard isn’t going to throw every single dead lore character at us, nor do I want them too. Most aren’t worth talking about.
100 years later would require an entirely different world, so it would have to be weeks or maybe a month. How much time has passed between Classic and retail in game?
spoilers
As far as chapter 3 in the Night Fae campaign you see Tyrande and learn what she’s up to
I keep waiting for him to be rescued in Torghast as a companion and then I get to send him on quests via mission board lol.
Why yes Nathanos, you can handle that elite alone
They’re not. They’re in Mechagon, as explicitly said when you enter their areas in de other side.
100 years is not that long. Elves live for thousands of years., Thalassian Elves usually live at least a thousand years. The world would be different but there is a reason why they threw all the MOST important lore characters into the Shadowlands with us,
In Chains still. Arthas and Ner’zhul is. As for Nathanos He’s free to actually be a Raid Boss or a Dungeon Boss in the Maw.
I was under the impression Arthas destroyed all that was left of Ner’zul once he was inside the Lich King"s armor with him.
Ok, so Arthas.
Just think about it.
How long ago did Arthas die?
In-Universe? Around 6 years ago (WotLK was set on year 27, but he died at the end of the expansion so I’m approximating it to year 28, and we are on year 34).
And then Bluther dropped him in the Maw.
6 years in the Maw.
You know what happens to souls in the Maw?
The Jailer’s people grab their souls and remove bits and bobs until the bare essential is all that is left. It results in a Shade. A creature without will or individuality that can only obey or suffer.
Even if we meet Arthas we wouldn’t be able to recognize his Shade.
Any of those shades we’ve met and killed already could have been Arthas and we wouldn’t know.
Arthas is probably in the maw being turned into a champion of the Jailor, he served as the Lich King with the influence of the helm and blade, it stands to reason he’d be used again.
Nathanos, in the maw or tower somewhere, I’d like to see him as a world boss in the maw that roams and isn’t marked on the map.
Ner’zhul…his will was shattered by Arthas when he donned the helm, fragments of him remained…his soul could be anywhere at this point really, sure he killed a bunch of people but it was against his will, as well as demonic manipulation.
