They are making more money with forcing the remaining people to buy tokens than going after a larger group of subs. What’s amazing is they don’t see how this situation will reach a critical point. Group Finder for rated is looking pretty bad right now. Noticeably worse than 2 weeks ago. I’m usually one to weather the storm no matter what but yesterday had me actually wondering if I should keep putting time into this when there is no one to q with already.
I don’t know how anyone plays this games pvp without a solid friends list. LFG is MISERABLE.
I feel you there. I usually do KSM on a toon or two. I’d love to raid, but the time investment is a bit much for me. Been doing Duelist then working on KSM so I don’t need to gear past couple seasons, good to know it’s not so dead that whenever I get there I won’t be able to find groups. haha
The struggle is real. More stressful than Elden Ring which I am actually playing as relief from wow stress.
The reason is Brian Holinka and his incapability to balance any PvP bracket. Starting from level 10 BG’s. There is not enough HP to do anything. You just die and healers never go oom. I really, really hate that man.
Pvp is and will always be an afterthought.
It’s all about the money. The current system is designed to make you reroll, buy tokens and stay subbed as long as possible chasing a carrot on a stick.
Blizzard never forced anyone to say “note tier” but as a developer knowing how changes affect the game/ player mentality is important.
I also play FIFA ultimate team and used to be on the e-MLS team for DC united. All the organizations had close communication with devs and there was changes a lot of organizations requested but was denied due to how it would affect the game and player base mentality.
It’s one thing to say hey I want to pick the best, it just sucks when the best to pick from are the ones who won the luck/rng lottery. So you’re not actually picking the best players and that’s another issue.
For example I been doing +20s this week and there’s a few times where the best geared player is the reason the key didnt get timed because they lack the skill but won the luck lottery so they got a invite to the group. When that happens it kills the experience for everyone else.
Maybe that is the case today. But PvP scene was relatively popular until WoD. In both US and EU realms.
Oh no doubt, but why cater to the pvp community at all when most of the people left will play it no matter what state it’s in?
Blizz knows this and are capitalizing off of this knowledge by saving time and money NOT investing in it.
Let’s be honest, most of the people left would play any version of pvp from wrath till today. All they’re looking for is the rush of chemicals to the reward center of the brain they get for winning.
the lack of rated soloQ is killing the game, and devs have known this from 7+ years ago, and they have still not implemented it
except solo shuffle sucks
None of my RL friends play anymore, nor people I used to play with.
If you want to a group of people to play with - make some. LFG has been a great experience for me. All of my Btags are from LFG. I would like to imagine most people are in the same boat as I am - to find good, consistent, and enjoyable people to play with.
I only bring up gearscore due to it being a player thing, not blizzard. It is now a part of WoW as a whole, and I don’t mind it. The higher the gear shows the content they’ve accomplished, I don’t see the issue whatsoever.
Let me preface by saying I don’t know the classes well enough to regard tier on a class by class basis, I can only speak on a few. But I confidently say any class can complete 15’s with no tier - I did. And while UH (I think is M+ meta) is good on in several spots, it gets blasted by other classes. Higher keys, sure, tier may be necessary to time.
I know what you’re implying, and I don’t completely disagree with you. I just want to highlight that players are making this clear distinction, not blizzard.
You’re absolutely right but it doesn’t matter. People want the best chance to complete. That means waiting for people that have tier.
The act of adding tier to the game means Blizzard created the environment that causes this to happen.
You can’t pass the buck to the players, they only want the best chance at completing. If you were in a race and could pick a car that was 20% faster, why wouldn’t you?
I really feel this. I have been gearing my alt warrior and i am 3/3 vault, 3200/3500 conq and 6k honor rn. It required like over 77 arenas played this week, i maintained a 65% win ratio and never broke 1530 too. Won like 45ish games out of 77…1530…just…annoying.
Every team i fought was in 270+ while i am 253 on that guy because i refused to grind the honor gear out again after doing it twice already, twice all of the conq grind, zereth mortis questd etc.
The catchup mechanics need to be stronger. Its really really not fun and downright frustrating.
You know what pisses me off? Blizzard actually had it kinda right toward the end of season 2, all they had to do with season 3 was to disable Tier Bonuses in PVP and not to hard deflate rating, and gate conduit upgrades at the top 1% level.
Hahah you dirty dog. I almost wish our MW healer played Hpriest, but when Hpriest eventually get nerfed we’re gonna be in a good spot I think.
Having access to Revival giving immunity to magical damage for 2 seconds is pretty dope. It does help to nullify a combustion go, screws over Ret burst, and makes Aff locks cry when he removes their entire setup (the best part). ![]()
For some reason I read your name as Guatemala
I probably should have went with that, to be honest. Had to explain it a handful of times so far.

Several of my friends have done this as well. I have several that prefer to play Ally, and when Blizz announced the cross-faction play, they all just stopped playing to take a break and wait for them to be able to play cross-faction.
Blizzard thanks you for your faith in their ability to correct this situation.
9.2.5 drops:
Power Infusion now adds 5% damage/healing.
Flat 5% reduction to MW healing.
