One of the most memorable characters I encountered leveling in Mulgore when I first started playing this game was Ahab Wheathoof. For those who don’t know Ahab Wheathoof was a NPC designed by Ezra Chatterton; a child with the Make-A-Wish foundation with the help of then lead game designer Tigole (Jeffrey Kaplan), and voiced by Ezra himself.
Although this was added in 2008, and during BC I feel that at the very least Ahab Wheathoof should be in his same spot by the bridge leading to Thunder Bluff in Bloodhoof Village. There would obviously be concerns with some in the Classic community about the presence of the NPC since he did not exist in-game at Classics relief. So at the very least there should be a compromise.
If the Classic community wishes, the NPC can be present but not give his original quest where you have to find his dog. I feel the NPC was not just a tribute to Ezra, but also a symbol of the older blizzard that cared about its customers and players. Now these days, it feels like they care little about retail WoW, and having the NPC in game can be a way of saying ‘We still care’.
Considering people all notice different things in the game that other people notice, its technically not spam. Now, if I was on several different characters making the same post, or making this thread over and over again with different variations, then yes. It would be spam.
Apparently it’s impossible for multiple people to have the same idea. Take your tinfoil hat off mate. It’s also super easy to figure out if multiple forum characters are on the same account, so stop with the baseless accusations.
If one NPC in the world as vast of WoW that doesn’t even have to give a quest bothers people then I would argue they are being inconsiderate of the symbolism behind the character.
But whatever, I’m not going to make a big deal about this, just trying to give my two cents and reasoning as to why I think he should be in classic.
